We showed up for the Park Show & met the headlining band Mercy Me, a really nice group of folks that know how to shake that thang.
As we started the set the crowd quickly went from 500 to 700 and just kept getting bigger!
All the songs went off without a hitch and everywere I looked I'd see friends and new fans bumpin' and clapping.
Brian & my step-mom Flo were working the crowd, handing out fliers for the Joey B's show and getting folks on the mailing list. Bob of bobsphotoshow.com was snappin' pics and people were cutting loose and dancing all over the place.
After our set we hob-nobbed a bit then bailed to get ready for the main event.
Joey B's is a new club in town so we weren't sure what to expect. When we got there at 8:30 the group at the bar told me that they'd seen us at the park and changed their plans to come see us instead of going to another show. What a way to start!
The sound in there was great and the staff were friendly and really cool. We started our first set at about 10:30 and by 11:00 the place was filling up fast.
The guys from Snubnose showed up after their band pracice and started whipping the girls around the dance floor. More people from the park were their, and all my friends brought even more friends!
By the end of the night I'd danced with most everyone in the crowd and had my share of drinkies.
Thanks especially to Amy Eff, Bob-o, Wes, Randy, Sherrie, Steph, Dave, Steph, Mike, Jim, Michelle, Amy & Robin, Jess, Joshua & Genie and the whole 4th of July crew!
