its been a while, my russian is a bit rusty, but damnit i still pour half a litre o vodka in my bowl a Thunder O's everymorning!!! which by the way, Thunder O's is and has been the leading brand of healthy multi grit cereal that does not go soggy in vodka kept under -25 degrees celcius!!!
so that being said................hope you are all well and planning your yearly mecca to the holy lands of the great russian hideout up over yonder!

Hey all. I am writing this to ask for some help from you beautiful people. Lisa Brown has not heard back from the Winstons promotion on having me open. Europe is the shiznit. I have met so many people (many of those ladies, hehe) and am having a blast. I just arrived in Rome and am at an Italian internet cafe. I spent the past week going all over Italy (Venice, Florence, now Rome). I will be here for a few days and then am off to either Greece or Barcelona, Spain. I have been writing a bunch of new songs and have an extra special energy about me right now (maybe its all the wine and Italian women). Anyway, I have been writing some good shit in my journal and will be posting some stuff on tribe soon. cant now cuz my time is about to run out on this computer. Hope all my friends are doing well. Happy Thanksgiving fellow thunderers. I am having the most unforgettable, yet soon to be forgotten Thanksgivings ever. The smokey smoke is absolutely insane here. Plus, a huge bonus, I came during the last four days of the yearly Cannibis Cup. This is when all of the "coffee" shops submit their best herb for a judging process. Right now, the herb/coffee shop right by my hostel is in second place in the cup for this super sickle, knock you on your ass green, gooey, loveliness. Anyway, having a blast and living the dream. THUNDER IN EUROPE

Hello Fellow Thunderers. In case you bretheren (sp?) haven't heard, I am off to live the dream in Europe in a couple of weeks. I will be there through the new year, where I will then be going to Jamcruise 4, and upon return will be bringing the Thunder with fellow Thunderer Ry Ry to Costa Rica as well as other South American countries. I have no real itenary and don't know when I will be returning to the US. So to all of my friends that I have met over the past few months through going to shows and/or living the dream one weekend at a time, I will miss you all. Please know that I will be continuing to check on my tribe off and on and would love to keep in touch with all of you. Please also know that if any of you are in the same country as me at any time down the road, and I am situated, you all have a place to crash. Would love to hook-up and push that International Good Vibe with any of my fellow tribers and show freaks. This past year has been quite a rough one for me, but thanks to live music and many of you, over the past several months things have finally begun to make sense. Rumors of Thunder Cruise to hit seas October 14th

Has anyone heard on the grape vine that that Thunder will be represented on Xingolati. I read in The Washington Post-Vibe that a few members will be on the boat for three nights of funkadelic Russian vibe. The article also said that because of a lack of shows on last year's winter tour (Russian snow is terrifying), they will be hiring new members once the boat leaves the dock. Criteria for new members will be the following: flare, groovyness, being able to do a handstand, smiles, and the usual quirky, laughable loveliness (any, none, or all of the above is acceptable for life-time membership). :>)

A special initiative group of scientists is establishing the Russian Psychedelic Society. The new organization has a goal to legalize the use of psychoactive drugs in official medicine, the mysterious lysergic acid diethylamide, or LSD-25, first and foremost. A prominent US scientist, Stanislav Grof, is expected to participate in the first congress of the new organization, which is slated to take place in November 2005. Like Sigmund Freud or Carl Yung, Grof is said to be one of the greatest revolutionaries in psychology.

"LSD-25 was studied very well 40 years ago. Remarkable qualities of the substance were used in the field of psychotherapy back then. - A spokesman for the initiative group, Anton Chuppin said. - Unfortunately, certain legal processes put an end to the research when psychedelic drugs were excluded from the list of legal medications. We believe that it was a wrong decision to make. A group of American scientists and cultural figures addressed to the US Surgeon General last year with a request to legalize LSD-25 to use it in medicine," Mr. Chuppin said.

Actress Barbara Streisand was one of those, who signed the above-mentioned petition. The actress confessed that it was LSD, which helped her survive the nervous breakdown, when the star discovered that her only son was a homosexual.

LSD-25 was discovered in 1943 by the leading specialists of Sandoz, Switzerland's largest pharmaceutical enterprise, Albert Hofmann, by accident. The chemist took a microscopic dose of the substance and was surprised to find out later that his consciousness separated from his body. The scientist saw the world in an unusual light. Sandoz started sending LSD to all leading clinics of Europe and the USA in 1948. The results of scientific experiments were simply astonishing. The drug gave an opportunity to people to explore the world differently: patients could travel to other worlds and epochs, experience mystical feelings, which positively affected their characters and psychological problems.

It is noteworthy that scientists of socialist countries were studying the LSD phenomenon too, especially in Poland and Czechoslovakia. Soviet specialist Maria Teleshevskaya conducted an extensive research of the psychedelic drug and published a positive report about her work in 1964.

The attitude to LSD started changing in the beginning of the 1960s, when the drug went out of medical control and became the common property for everyone. LSD went into everyday use for hippies and artists. The broad use of the substance revealed its negative, sometimes bizarre qualities. Hollywood diva Ava Gardner, who took over 200 doses of LSD, could see a skinned skull in the mirror instead her own reflection for several months. Specialists registered several incidents of strange suicides, when LSD-drugged people jumped off high-rise buildings hoping to enter the setting sun. Senator Robert Kennedy stated in 1964 that LSD posed the central danger to the American youth. The production and distribution of LSD-25 was prohibited on the territory of the USA already in 1966. Other countries followed the USA's example soon after that.

The medical research of LSD continued in America up to 1974, albeit only in the Maryland-based scientific center under the direction of Stanislav Grof, an emigrant from Czechoslovakia. The work, however, was subsequently shut down without any explanations. Maria Teleshevskaya, a Soviet scientist, published her analysis of the LSD analysis in the 1960s. The study was published in a tiny print-run in the republic of Armenia.

Nevertheless, Stanislav Grof managed to expose the results of his LSD-25 research in such books as "Realms of the Human Unconscious," "Beyond the Brain," LSD Psychotherapy," and several others. The scientist's work exemplifies the effect of the mysterious medication as it penetrates into the human mind and takes a person on an incredible journey through time, space and dimensions. In Grof's opinion, LSD acts as an accelerating agent of religious strikening and helps a human being realize the objectivity of divine principles. The LSD-produced effect helped Stanislav Grof establish a study about four basic perinatal matrixes of the human mind. The study became one of the most sensational and talked-about events in the history of psychology.

Stanislav Grof's first visit to Russia took place in 1991. The scientist was very surprised to find out that his basic works had been published in Russia illegally. Grof's most important works were subsequently published in Russia again, this time officially. The Federal Print Agency refused to republish "Realms of the Human Unconscious," supposedly on account of a special letter from the Russian Ministry for Healthcare. It brings up the idea that the creation of the Russian Psychedelic Society will become a scandalous event, which will definitely raise numerous discussions both in the society and in the political administration of Russia.

well after hornings i'm finding myself itching and twitching, wanting more cheese sooooooo bad!!!!!! therefor i am forced to go to vegoose, i know it will be hard, but after 34 years i think the thunder is ready to return to where it all got started, back at the stardust in 71' the thunder did a series of all male reviews that took vegas by storm ( pun intended ). they also did a number of late night shows as the back up dancers for none other than the king himself, the first ever elvis impersonater, pelvis messly!!! i've been on the phone for hours with the people at vegoose, they're trying to push the thunder into headlining both nights at the boyd!!! dave matthews and jack johnson are having a really hard time with this because of the band brawls back in 98', when the thunder went off routine from daves very strict dance numbers busting into what would later be known round the world as the thunder thrust, things got ugly to say the least!! don't worry fellow thunderereres, i've applied for restraining orders for both dave and jack, so thier shouldn't be any problems this year!! so lets glitter dun, thunder style,

I can feel it in the Breeze

I already picture myself there, barefoot on the Oregon terrain, twirling around with eyes closed, as each improvised note released slowly changes my life's past perspectives. It's the kind of feeling one gets when they've been waiting for something for a long time (checking the calendar regularly for months), only to find that the awaited event is an arm's length away. I'll take my Cheese melted; let it steadily spread through my brain with its' soothingly sweet harmony. Let the sounds enter my ears with no abandonment, as my worries dash out of the way, knowing that they are no match for the warmth. My eyes will absorb the poetry of people positively gathering with eagerness and similar hope for splendor. The familiar tunes will become a blanket of rhythm, allowing bodies to move in ways that are unique to the positive enviornment.

THUNDER THUNDER THUNDER T-SHIRTS

Hello to fellow Thunderers,

Just wanted to let all Thunder members know that I am having some Thunder T-shirts made for HH. I am making 12 total and already have a few locked for people (have various sizes and styles of shirt). If you want one, let me know size and I will lock it for you. The front of the T says "Have you felt the thunder?" the back says "The Russian Thunder" and has a huge thunder bolt going through it. On top it says "Summer Festival TOur 2005". Of course, the color of the shirt is all red, for they are the colors of our native land Russia. It is costing me $128 for a dozen shirts (is more than usual cuz only made 12), so will be $10 each if want one. Let me know sooner than later cuz we are limited. I have sizes for the girls too.

One Small Person Needed for Horning's Hideout Late-night Thunder Show

Field trip to where is all got started. Who's in?

Plans are in the works for a field trip to the mother land next March. There will be dancing, vibe, and lots of Russians waiting for us with open arms. What could be better? Hot off the tabloid presses, the one and only "Russian Thunder" are currently negotiating a contract which could bring many, if not most of the wacky and beloved dance-vibe group to international waters this January. That's right folks, the hippest foreign group to tour American soil (since the nototious "Spanish Hurricanes" lost their mojo in a tear-jerking yoga accident) will soon be bringing thier show to an international degree.
As if the young dancing group has not had enough fame and exposure with their 9 times platinum album, INFECTIOUS VIBE, they are now taking their hot, fresh dance moves to the sea this January 2006. Stay tuned for more news to come in the following months.

Russian Thunder Fall Tour Dates and info on venues

Vítejte na stránkách Jambandu 007, jazzové kapely působící na ZUŠ Třinec, založené v roce 1997. Kapela nemá stálou sestavu a občas trpí na vytíženost svých členů. Za svého tříletého působení natočila ve studiu ZUŠ dvě CD - Dead End a The Best Of '99, ve složení TOM Q jsme pak ve studiu Českého rozhlasu Ostrava 19.10.2001 natočili třetí CD. Nejvýznamnějšími vystoupeními kapely byly Krajská soutěž jazzových, estrádních a tanečních kapel v Hlučíně, oblastní kolo soutěže jazzových orchestrů a kapel v Havířově a koncerty v jazzovém klubu v Českém Těšíně. Vystupujeme také na školních koncertech v Kulturním domě v Třinci a na školních předehrávkách. Ve školním roce 1999/2000 jsme se zúčastnili Festivalu jazzových orchestrů uměleckych škol v Litvínově, který proběhl ve dnech 9. - 11. června 2000. Dne 12.1.2002 jsme vystoupili v Kulturním domě v Třinci na reprezentačním plese města Třince a Třineckých železáren, kde jsme hráli přibližně od 20:00 do 01:00. Děkujeme, že jste nám drželi palce!

Jamband 007 je existenčně závislý na ZUŠ v Třinci, členové kapely jsou jejími žáky.
Kapelu vede ředitel ZUŠ v Třinci Mgr. Eduard Turoň.

Průměrný věk členů kapely je 18,6 let.

DNES - JAMBAND I KVARTET PŘIPRAVUJE DALŠÍ SKLADBY

Rozhodli jsme se rozšířit náš repertoár o další skladby. Předchozí už totiž umíme, tak proč ne? Jamband začal cvičit známou skladbu Seven steps to heaven Milese Davise. Kvartet se naopak přiklonil k tvorbě domácích autorů a vybral si skladby:
- Alone Roberta Balzara (z alba Robert Balzar Trio - Alone, a zároveň Dan Bárta - Illustratosphere - zde pod názvem Divení)
- Quartet III Petra Maláska (z alba František Kop Quartet - Twinkle)
- Song about you Romana Pokorného (z alba Roman Pokorný Quartet - Magic Holidays)
- Až budeš chtít Jeníka Nowaka (dosud nevydáno)

Až je budeme umět, dáme vědět!

VYSTOUPENÍ NA PLESE NEMOCNICE

Ples nemocnice se pro nás velmi podobal plesu ZUŠ. Vše totiž proběhlo na stejném místě a ve stejném časovém harmonogramu, jen o šest dní později - tj. v pátek 8.2.2002. Dvě stejné kapely, téměř stejné skladby... jen jiná společnost. Rozdíly: David neodjel, víno se nevylilo, naopak se ho více vypilo. Hudební výkon kapely byl taktéž v pořádku. Co dodat? Věříme, že jsme se líbili.

JAMBAND ZNOVU NA PLESE ZUŠ

Tak. Již podruhé během svého působení se Jamband představil na Tradičním plese ZUŠ. Ten se konal jako obvykle v Tanečním sále KD Trisia, v sobotu 2.2.2002 od 19:00 do 04:00. Mužská půle Jambandu si dala sraz již v 17:00 v budově ZUŠ a připravila veškeré aparáty k převozu (i cinkátka). Už v 18:00 jsme začali se zvukovou zkouškou v sále. Samotné vystoupení začalo v 19:06. Nutno přiznat, že sál se během našeho vystouupení teprve pozvolna zaplňoval. Program jsme rozdělili na 2 části, nejdříve zahrál Jamband v plném SEXtetu, po krátké přestávce vystoupil Jamband v plném kvartetu. Program: Black Orpheus, Ease away walk, Night and day, A child is born, Foggy day. Program kvartetu: Dolphin dance, Hackensack, Caravan. Jazz pak vystřídalo oficiální zahájení a předtančení tanečního oddělení ZUŠ. Jamband střelhbitě převezl všechno zpět do studia ZUŠ (i cinkrlátka), aby se mohl oddat plesání a plesové atmosféře (vylité víno, vypité pivo, vypitá vína, chaotický tanec, procítěný zpěv, úsměvy sekretářek a tak dále). Ne všichni ovšem vydrželi.

Ples jsme opouštěli v tomto pořadí:
- David (na ples se po odvozu aparatury ani nevrátil, jelikož musel ráno vstávat do práce)
- Darina (autobus nepočká)
- Kamila (odešla po půlnoci bez udání důvodu, zatím moc nevydrží ;-)
- Jeník (inspiroval se Františkem Kopem a absolvoval Noční výlet, musel ale odvézt rodiče)
- a nakonec... Pavel s Luckou (každý ovšem jiným směrem, i když oba domů, Pavel ale, ač nerad, sám)

Hodnocení z pohledu webmasterů:
- z celkového pohledu (Pavel) - myslím, že to byla vcelku pěkná akce. Pěkně jsme zahráli, pěkně se pobavili, při některých hudebních kouscích kapely pana ředitele si někteří z nás i zazpívali. V restauraci jsme si s Luckou zapinkali s korunou, kterou jsme potom ztratili.
- z hudebního pohledu (Jeník) - hudební stránku lze hodnotit ve dvou rovinách. Jamband a kvartet - mjud. Další hudební produkce mi již nebyla k duhu, asi jsem se již transformoval v ortodoxního jazzmana. Nicméně kapelu mohu pochválit.

PRVNÍ AKCE V NOVÉM ROCE A HNED...

...Reprezentační ples města Třinec a Třineckých železáren. Vystoupení na tomto plese předcházely důkladné přípravy - Jamband totiž dostal požadavek hrát od 20 hodin až do půlnoci, což by při momentálním repertoáru nebylo možné. Kontaktovali jsme proto Zbyška Kaletu, skvělého tenorsaxofonistu a klarinetistu. Během dvou zkoušek s ním jsme připravili dalších asi 12 skladeb, některé pečlivě, některé pouze zběžně. Bohužel, David se ani na jednu z nich nedostavil (oddával se zimním sportům, možná až moc), a tak se se Zbyškem poprvé setkal až na plese. Ten se konal v sobotu 12.1.2002, jak jinak než v KD Trisia. Jamband měl téměř vlastní improvizované pódium (okupoval asi 82.36% území), postavené na pódiu divadelního sálu. Téměř vlastní znamená, že se jazz střídal přibližně každou půlhodinu s DJem. Kromě kapely a místa vyhrazeného k tanci se na pódiu sálu nacházelo i několik stolů a bar. Jamband začal své vystoupení po slavnostním zahájení. Program jsme rozdělili na pět částí, nakonec jsme jej museli na čtyři. Přijetí kapely bylo různé. Množství lidí v sále bylo totiž velice proměnlivé, někdy jsme proto hráli pouze pro sebe. Poslední tóny zazněly asi o půl druhé. Nástroje a aparaturu jsme odvezli až v neděli odpoledne. Protože jsme vlastně pořád hráli, tak jsme si vůbec plesu neužili. Kromě Jeníka. Tomu je totiž hraní nade vše. Tímto bychom chtěli poděkovat Zbyškovi, se kterým se nám hrálo opravdu skvěle.

PRVNÍ VYSTOUPENÍ NOVÉHO JAMBANDU

Křest ohněm si Jamband odbyl 7. prosince 2001 v Řece v hotelu Javor, kde vystoupil na oslavě třinecké právnické firmy Kazuist. Zahráli jsme celý repertoár, což byl úspěch, neboť dodatečně dojela i basa, kterou si Pavel prostě zapomněl (tvrdě "Bohužel. Já za to nemožu!"). Přivezl ji pan Pilch, který se obětoval, ačkoliv právě učil (pan Pilch: "Já učím." - Pavel: "Já vím." - pan Pilch: "Jak to mám udělat?" - Pavel: "Já nevím."). Něco se zahrát podařilo podle našich představ, něco ne. Sklidili jsme docela úspěch a zpříjemnili přítomným večeři.

JAMBAND ZAVÁDÍ VOKÁLNÍ PRVKY!!!

Po snížení počtu muzikantů v kapele nabyli někteří pozůstalí členové dojmu, že kapele chybí její dosavadní barevnost. Protože méně nástrojů neumožňuje tvorbu tak bohatých aranží, rozhodli se členové staré gardy, že je nutno zpestřit zvuk kapely nástrojem, který je jim vždy k dispozici - vlastním hlasem. Na úterních zkouškách proto začali tajně a neslyšně nacvičovat zpívané kusy, samozřejmě za doprovodu svých nástrojů. První takovou skladbou (vlastně již písní) se stala Rodgersova Blue moon (ou jé bejby). Text, jak již napovídá název skladby, není příliš složitý. Zpívají hlavně Jeník a Pavel, někdy se připojí i David. Snad se zpěvu časem oddá i Lucka.

JAMBAND V PŘERODU

Začátkem školního roku 2001/2002 vstoupil Jamband do své již páté sezóny. Nepovedlo se ale to, co loni. V kapele totiž došlo k zásadním změnám - odešli z ní Martin Zielina, který se vydal studovat do Olomouce, a také Tomáš Kaleta, nyní studující v Ostravě, kde se také přihlásil na lidovou konzervatoř. Zvláštní kapitolou je pak Mihal. Ten působení v kapele po dvou měsících vzdal pro nedostatek motivace, těžiště jeho zájmů se přesunulo jinam (kdoví kam). Naopak do kapely přišla na popud pana ředitele Kamila Podvojská, která se sebou přinesla i flétnu.

Sestava Jambandu 007 vypadá tedy letos takto:
Lucka Gembalová - klarinet
Jeník Nowak - klavír
David Peter - bicí (drumsy)
Kamila Podvojská - flétna
Pavel Puchala - basa
Darina Wawrzaczová - altsaxofon
Pavel Rusnok j.h. - bicí (drumsy)

Termín zkoušek kapely se nezměnil - zkoušky se opět konají ve středu v 17 hodin. Nelze nezmínit, že někteří členové chodí včas, ale někteří pozdě. Obě tyto vlastnosti pak kombinuje Darina, která sice přichází do budovy ZUŠ již před pátou hodinou, ale poté se před ní nekonečeně dlouho vykecává. Ach ty babské pindy.
Kromě těchto středečních zkoušek má Jamband zkoušky i v úterý v 18:00, ale v neúplné sestavě, která se podobá TOM Q - Lucka, Jeník, Pavel a David. V tomto kvartetu se cvičí další repertoár a hodně se experimentuje.
Vrásky na čele nám ale dělá David - odpolední směny každý druhý týden ho na zkoušku nepustí. Na zkouškách ho pak nahrazuje Pavel Rusnok, Návsí 590, což je dobrý bubeník, ale má i svoje mínus. And it´s alright. Jsme mu za to samozřejmě vděčni, s bubeníkem se hraje vždycky lépe.

HISTORIE

1997/1998
Všechno to začalo na začátku září 1997, kdy byla na návrh ředitele ZUŠky pana Eduarda Turoně založena kapela v následující sestavě:
Jan Ciompa - altsaxofon
Petr Guňka - klávesová basa
Martin Kubát - trubka
Robert Mitręga - tenor a sopransaxofon, klarinet
Jan Nowak - piano
Pavel Pilch ml. - bicí
Pavel Puchala - klávesy

Termín zkoušek jsme si stanovili na středu v 18:00. S výběrem skladeb nám pomohl pan ředitel, který si dal tu práci a na Internetu našel pro nás vhodné kusy, které jsme později obohatili o evergreeny „Lady be good“ a „Girl in Panama“. Po asi půlroce usilovného cvičení a jednom školním vystoupení jsme se s tímto repertoárem zúčastnili Krajské soutěže jazzových, estrádních a tanečních kapel v Hlučíně, odkud jsme si odvezli druhé místo ve své kategorii. Diplom převzal trumpetista jakožto největší šoumen, čímž všechny přítomné dámy ohromil! Fotky z této akce si můžete prohlédnout kliknutím zde.
Náš repertoár jsme zahráli také jako předkapela v jazzovém klubu v Českém Těšíně. V červnu 1998 jsme ve studiu ZUŠ natočili své první CD, které jsme nazvali podle skladby, se kterou jsme začínali - Dead End. K šesti již zmíněným skladbám jsme přidali „Když se jí dívám do očí“, kterou napsal Pavel Puchala, a závěrečnou sedmiminutovou improvizaci.
Na zkouškách většinou panovala dobrá nálada a vždycky jsme si dobře rozuměli (608 kB). Naši historicky první studiovou nahrávku naleznete zde (481 kB). To nejlepší z toho, co se nám podařilo tajně zaznamenat diktafonem přímo na zkouškách naleznete zde (1,04 MB). Kapela bohužel v této sestavě nemohla hrát další rok, protože Robert Mitręga začal studovat na Konzervatoři Jaroslava Ježka v Praze, Pavel Pilch ml. se dostal na konzervatoř v Ostravě a Petr Guňka úspěšně absolvoval přijímací zkoušky na vysokou školu v Praze. Ve školním roce 1998/1999 jsme zůstali pouze čtyři. Hráli jsme tedy v následující sestavě:

Zkoušky jsme přesunuli na pátek na 17:00, kdy bylo jisté, že se všichni sejdeme. Hned počátkem roku jsme ale všichni cítili, že to není to, co bývalo. Každý si uvědomoval, jakou jsme měli v minulém roce skvělou a sehranou sestavu a že nám ostatní chybí. Přesto jsme nezaháleli a poctivě cvičili, tento rok byl ovšem bez živého vystoupení. V našem skromném repertoáru se objevily tyto skladby: „Jazzy“, „Sir Joe“ a skladba Jeníka Nowaka. Ke konci školního roku ještě navíc odešel bubeník, který získal zaměstnání a z neznámých důvodů i trumpetista. Naštěstí post bubeníka nahradil skvělý David Peter z Milíkova. Do poslední chvíle to vypadalo tak, že nám tentokrát nezůstane žádná památka v podobě zvukového záznamu. Během června se ale vrátil z Prahy Robert Mitręga a velmi se zajímal, jestli se tento rok bude něco nahrávat. Když se dozvěděl, že zřejmě ne, rozhodl se ostatní členy kapely zkontaktovat se záměrem nacvičit pár skladeb, které bychom mohli natočit. Tento plán byl úspěšný - během prázdnin jsme se dvakrát sešli u Roberta doma, kde jsme měli celou aparaturu, a společně vybrali a nacvičili skladby na druhé CD - The Best Of '99, které jsme doplnili již hotovým „Sir Joe“. Při výběru jsme neopomněli jazzové standardy, ve kterých se dá dobře improvizovat a kterými nás Robert bohatě zásobil. Vše nacvičené jsme nahráli ještě o prázdninách, jak jinak než ve studiu ZUŠky. Konečná sestava Jambandu 007 na CD "The Best Of '99" byla tedy:

Protože školní rok 1998/1999 byl pro kapelu rokem velmi složitým a nejistým, měli jsme z natočeného CD všichni obrovskou radost!

1999/2000
V tomto roce začal Jamband novou etapu své existence. Do kapely přišlo celkem šest nových muzikantů. Z předchozí kapely zůstali bubeník, pianista a basista, celá dechová sekce a kytarista byli v Jambandu nováčky. Sestava vykrystalizovala takto:

Vizitku kapely určitě pozitivně ovlivnilo to, že se v ní poprvé objevilo něžné pohlaví, a to hned ve dvou exemplářích. Obnovili jsme původní termín zkoušek, tj. středa v 18:00. Naše nové dechy jsme začali sehrávat na jednodušších a dvou starých osvědčených skladbách. Tak se v našem repertoáru objevily tyto skladby: Slunečný rag, Tea for two, Sentimental journey a Chattanooga choo choo, které jsme si zahráli v prosinci 1999 na třídních předehrávkách. K nim jsme později přidali jazzové standardy Cherokee, It don't mean a thing a baladu A child is born. Tyto tři skladby spolu s Chattanooga choo choo jsme zahráli začátkem června 2000 na třídních předehrávkách a týden nato jsme s nimi odjeli na 2. Festival jazzových orchestrů uměleckych škol do Litvínova, kde jsme uspěli a naše skladba A child is born se dostala na výběrové CD festivalu. Fotky z Litvínova si můžete prohlédnout kliknutím zde. Snaha improvizovat dopadla, zdá se, na úrodnou půdu. Kromě hraní zmíněných jazzových standardů jsme se snažili na konci zkoušky jamovat, pokud se ovšem někteří členové nerozprchli domů. Kapela měla občas problémy se zkouškami, téměř všichni jsme studovali na středních školách, kytarista se kupodivu úspěšně pokusil o maturitu, bubeník vykonával civilní vojenskou službu, což mu v zimě zabraňovalo účastnit se většiny zkoušek. To však kapele nezabránilo v tom, aby se neustále zlepšovala a postupovala k pomyslným jazzovým výšinám.

2000/2001
Ačkoliv se to zdá nemožné, podařilo se nám (poprvé a naposledy) udržet sestavu z minulého roku. Kapela takto vlastně šla dál se svým dosavadním repertoárem, a postupně ho rozšiřovala.

JAK JSME HRÁLI VE SPORTOVNÍ HADLE

Čtete správně. Opravdu jsme hráli v HADLE. Došlo k tomu dne 23.11.2000 ve 12:00 místního času (+01:00 GMT). Rozbalili jsme to v plném obsazení. Sraz jsme měli v devět před hudepkou a už od půl desáté jsme v hadle cvičili. Náš program: It don´t mean a thing, A child is born, Cantaloupe Island
a Cherokee. Škoda, že jsme nezahráli Straight, no chaser, který jsme tak rozparblali na zkoušce! Po koncertě jsme se odebrali do Žáby, kde jsme se za darmo občerstvili. Po návratu do hadly jsme v průběhu soutěže sestavili žebříček, kterým jsme symbolicky uzavřeli první etapu tohoto školního roku, v odborné literatuře uváděnou pod názvem čtvrteční období. JAMBAND MĚL PŘEDEHRÁVKY

Jamband úspěšně vystřízlivěl po vánočních svátcích (hlavně po Silvestru) a bez otálení se vrhnul na práci. Během pár zkoušek jsme znovu našli ztracené nátisky, prstoklady a noty. Pečlivě jsme se tak připravili na třídní předehrávky, které proběhly ve středu 24.1.2001 v 17 hodin v koncertním salónku budovy A ZUŠ. Ačkoliv jsme neměli být jediní, kteří měli na předehrávkách vystoupit, zákeřný infekční chřipkový bacil chtěl, aby tomu tak bylo. A tak jsme to rozbalili hned od začátku a v plné sestavě. A co jsme vlastně hráli? Dvě novinky - Chicken od Jaca Pastoria a Killer Joe od Bennyho Golsona a dvě již osvědčené věci - Cantaloupe Island a A child is born. A aby toho nebylo málo, přidali jsme naše staré známé Cherokee. Ačkoliv se hlediště příliš nezaplnilo, sklidili jsme za naši snahu snad zasloužený potlesk.

A teď naše oblíbená rubrika - zhodnocení výkonů jednotlivých členů kapely:
Lucka - sladce zahrála A child is born, ale stále trochu falešně. Nicméně sklidila velký aplaus u posluchačů.
Tomáš - nejspíš si nevzal k srdci naše rady ohledně posilování nátisku, protože stále nedá celý chorus. Ale jinak pařbil slušně.
Jeník - nebyl se svým výkonem spokojen, přesto se dočkal uznání.
David - ačkoliv dosti špatně slyšel ostatní členy kapely, podal skvělý výkon (hlavně na bicí). Vysloužil si pochvalu kapelníka Jeníka za skladbu Chicken.
Pavel - v Cantaloupe Islandu mu nehrála basa, a to z toho důvodu, že potenciometr hlasitosti byl stažen hýžděmi. :-o Po chvíli bylo ale vše vyřešeno.
Kamil - Benny Golson je podle něho úplná nula! Měl by se ale víc zabývat harmonii a prostudovat si stupnice. Je ale nutno přiznat, že se (na rozdíl od ostatních) zlepšuje.
Mihal - na rozdíl od Kamila se nezlepšuje. Zdá se, že nemá žádnou touhu po zlepšení, ale jestli ti křivdíme, tak promiň.
Darinka - zdá se, že již není tak hodně zranitelná. Transformuje se ve velice tvrdou dívku! V důsledku toho má i tvrdý, ale poměrně čistý tón. Na předehrávkách byla hezky vyoblíkaná.
Martin - cvakal si na efektu jako malé dítě. Kromě toho i dobře hrál a sólo v Cantaloupe Island dobře osólil.

V pondělí 29. ledna 2001 se o Jambandu objevil článek ve Frýdecko-Místeckých Novinách Kamelot (JPG 202 kB). Zevrubně zmínil historii kapely a její současné působení. Bohužel internetová adresa byla v redakci nesprávně interpretována a v článku se objevilo navíc "www.".

JAMBAND VYSTOUPIL V ČESKOTĚŠÍNSKÉM JAZZKLUBU

Došlo k tomu na Velký pátek, tj. 13.4.2001. Pátek třináctého, to nevěštilo nic dobrého. Vystoupily všechny tři jazzové kapely ZUŠ Třinec. Jamband 007, jakožto nejpilnější kapela s nejsilnějšími chlapy, si dala sraz už v 17:00 před hudebkou a poctivě sbalila, snesla, naložila, převezla, vyložila, nanosila, uložila a nachystala všechny nástroje, veškerou aparaturu, signálové kabely, MIDI kabel, notové stojany, židli a pedál, za což mu ani jedna z účinkujících kapel nepoděkovala ani milého slova neřekla. Tak jsme se pochválili sami. Po zvukové zkoušce, která dopadla špatně, a hudební zkoušce, která dopadla špatně, jsme přenechali pódium dalším. Koncert zahájilo ve 20:00 Junior Trio s Kamilou Podvojskou jako (čestným) hostem, které zahrálo několik standardů. Po nich to rozbalil Jamband s Robertem jako hostem. Náš program: It don't mean a thing, Tea for two, Chattanooga choo choo, Ease away walk, Killer Joe, Cantaloupe island, A child is born, Chicken a Cherokee. Jazzu na hodinu. Po nás vystoupila s Robertem Mitręgou a Pavlem Pilchem ml. v základní sestavě starší kapela pana Pilcha. Všechny kapely sklidily zcela zasloužené ovace, Jamband pak sklidil nástroje, aparaturu, kabely, stojany, židli a pedál a vše poctivě sbalil, naložil, převezl, vyložil a vynosil a uložil zpět do ZUŠ! Robert j.h. nosil taky. Domů jsme dorazili až kajsi kolem půlnoci.

24.4.2001 jsme měli spolu s Junior triem pana Pilcha dopolední koncert v třineckém gymnáziu v rámci akce Jazzový den. Obě kapely vystoupily v aule gymnázia celkem třikrát.

Ve středu 25. dubna 2001 vyšel v třineckém Hutníku článek o účinkování jazzových kapel třinecké ZUŠ v jazzklubu (JPG 91 kB).

JAMBAND SI ZASOUTĚŽIL

V sobotu 5.5.2001 nastal den, na který jsme se intenzivně připravovali celý školní rok. Vypůjčeným autobusem naloženým nástroji jsme se vydali na oblastní kolo soutěže jazzových orchestrů a kapel do Havířova. Soutěž probíhala v budově ZUŠ a protože soutěžní sály byly dva a porota se přesouvala z jednoho do druhého rychlostí světla, docházelo k organizačnímu zmatku a snad i proto jsme neslyšeli téměř žádné vystoupení ostatních kapel. Nemůžeme se proto objektivně srovnávat s ostatními. Jediné, co nás zamrzelo, byl trochu podivný věkový průměr některých kapel z Ostravy, který byl podle nás na poměry ZUŠ poněkud vysoký. Porota nás ocenila druhou příčkou, což bylo pro nás zklamáním, ale z výše uvedených důvodů jsme se tomu příliš nedivili.

JAMBAND ZAHRÁL NA KONCERTĚ TALENTŮ

Ve středu 16.5.2001 se konal v budově třineckého DDM Koncert talentů pořádaný ZUŠ a Jamband jakožto talentovaná kapela nemohl chybět! Nominoval nás za dobré výkony (hlavně na soutěži) pan ředitel. Program, který navrhl, jsme po dohodě změnili. Zahráli jsme tedy Chicken, Ease away walk a Cantaloupe island. Dopoledne Jamband sbalil, snosil, naložil, převezl, vyložil, odnosil, nanosil a nachystal všechny nástroje, techniku, komba, kabely, židli a pedál. Pak jsme měli dlouhou zvukovou zkoušku. Odpolední koncert byl kvalitní přehlídkou žáků třinecké a bratislavské ZUŠ. Velkou část koncertu tvořilo vystoupení vážné hudby, po níž se sálem rozezněl jazz, a to nejdříve v podání Junior tria pana Pilcha a poté již v krystalicky čistém zvuku huhu Jambandu. Sóla si zahráli všichni talentovaní talenti talentované kapely plné talentů! Musíme ale sebekriticky přiznat, že se nám koncert nepovedl podle našich představ. Hudbě scházela jiskra a improvizacím roztouženost. Vezmeme si proto z nezdaru příklad a budeme se snažit nedostatky eliminovat.
