I've created a shared google calendar of local (mostly Redwood City) events. If you're interested, you can add this to your own google calendar by doing the following:

Go to google calendar and sign in (calendar.google.com)
Click on Manage Calendars
Click on Add Calendar
Click on Public Calendar Address
Enter the following address:
www.google.com/calendar/f...public/full

This calendar has all sorts of interesting events from the weekly farmers market to local Festivals, to shows at the Fox Theater.
