Hey Ya'll... I am being somewhat mentored inasmuch as moderating a tribe is concerned. I will follow his example since it seems to be such a good idea.
I think it would be cool if we all introduce ourselves to one another, Making this tribe a little more personal than some of the others. Hopefully, many of us will come to know each other and to build lasting and meaningful friendships.

Re: Introductions and Such
Fri, April 6, 2007 - 11:30 AMI'll go first... My name is Adam, I come from a small town near Temecula, California. The town is called Anza and if you have ever been there you probably wouldn't remember too much from the experience. I have had a very interesting life thus far, it's been full of experiences and opportunities to learn a great deal.
Currently I am doing a lot of soul searching and getting to know who I am on a spirtitual level. That means that I try to meditate as much as I can, I am flirting with yoga and am going to be switching to a Vegan diet soon from my vegetarian one.
I look forward to meeting new people and learning from them. Thanks : ) -

Re: Introductions and Such
Fri, April 6, 2007 - 12:52 PMHi!! I'm Allie. Saw Adam's invite to join on the Burning Man Tribe and it sounded like a great opportunity to be connected to some great people. I live in Culver City. I am an unregistered architect by trade but I'm looking to create or be part of an intentional community someday and get out of the rat race that is LA. I love the community that makes up Burning Man and try to connect as often as I can. I have a wonderful husband and an extraordinary 15-year-old step-daughter at home and another super duper 16-year-old step daughter who lives with her mom.
I, too, am on a spiritual journey. I meditate/pray on an irregular basis, I don't exercise enough, I don't own a TV,our two dogs are the best in the world, I have a cat who is nicknamed "bitch", I am surrounded by friends and family who are super supportive, I drink occasionally and I love to sleep! My grandmother taught me to use poi when I was 7. She was in a Hawaiian Dance group called "The Tutus" (tutu is grandmother in Hawaiian) and could have probably rocked some fire poi!! I'd love to try and spin fire poi sometime....

Re: Introductions and Such
Sat, April 7, 2007 - 12:38 AMHi all
i'm Saint
I'm on a journey of discovery. I study religion, politics and various other human interactions and social phenominia. i try and experience life from various view points and to learn as many lessoons as possible from any single event that i'm involved in. I currently live in Huntington Beach am working in appraisals of homes. I've been a bum, a student, a lover , an engineer, a counselor , a priest and held various other titiles over the course of my life.
I can't type and try to live my life with no regrets. that dosent mean, i don't make mistakes, it just means I learn from them and keep moving forward.
I guess that's a good enough start for now.

Re: Introductions and Such
Sun, April 8, 2007 - 10:37 AMI'm BryTee.
I am open and honest. I don't like lies and hypocrisy.
I also am a Burningman fan, although I see hypocrisy there in the organization/politics of that! But most of the people who go seem nice, even if too many "tourists"!
My (ex)GF recently ended our 3½yr relationship where she couldn't commit, and kept us hundreds of miles apart. People say that's good as she was using me and stringing me along, and must have secretly had someone else to fill her non-monetary needs while I wasn't visiting for a few days in months of being apart. It's difficult to know as I know she tells lies and likes secrets and/or just not being open about herself. Interestingly she ended it when I decided to stop giving money, paying her bills, and her now trying to find a job.
People have said I'm a really nice guy, giving, romantic, attentive, etc, and I deserve better. I try my best to be the best I can be.
When I die I want it to be holding hands, or in the arms of someone I love, with me until that moment (or I'm with them until their last moment). Then thank them and wish them well as they leave here, to not be alone, and meet the "grim reaper", the "ferryman", or get guided to the light. Whatever. Alone is sad.
I want my tombstone to say "Here lies a truly nice guy". I try.

Hi I'm Bettina
Mon, April 9, 2007 - 10:21 AMThanks for starting this tribe! I spend a lot of time at parties, wandering around watching a world I somehow don't fit inot. I like being sober, I like the activities being sober makes ir safe for me to engage in...most of all, I like enjoying the day after a party as much as I enjoy a good party! -

Re: Hi I'm Bettina
Mon, April 9, 2007 - 10:36 AMMy name is Nick and I'm from beautiful, scenic, Riverside, CA.
As someone who has to drive really far to attend events in LA, I rarely partake more than a beer or two. Therefore, I have no problem with this concept and look forward to seeing the crew that rolls out. I won't lie, I enjoy altered perspectives and social lubricants, but I also think being completely present and genuine is a great way to spend an evening.
Plus, the way I spin fire, I spin around so much that I get dizzy and fall over. So I'll be flying on a natural high, suckas!

Re: Introductions and Such
Mon, April 9, 2007 - 11:05 AMHi I'm Angel.
I'm originally from Chicago and have been living in Southern California for forever it seems now. I'm pretty shy most of the time (not all) so if you see me defn come up and say hello. I'm kind of all over the place so a explanation of me is that I'm a Aquarius, if you know about them... that's me in a nutshell. Quirky but good spirited and fun, maybe a little aloof at times ie. my head's up in the clouds a lot. Been fire dancing for about a year now and learning more and more tools and tricks at every turn. I like to think of it as a cleansing of the past and a rebirth of sorts, like a phoenix rising from the ashes as I also found this community and dancing during one of the roughest times I've ever had in my life - so I too am very thankful that I've found this community it's been a godsend and I am so very blessed to be a part of it.
Nice to meet you guys.
Love and Light :-) -

Re: Introductions and Such
Mon, April 9, 2007 - 3:35 PMWell met... welcome. It is a privelege and an honor to get to know you all better. Sometimes the internet lacks something as a communication medium. It is awesome to see the breath of individuality blown into all these postage stamp-sized avatars. You are all amazing, thanks for sharing.

Re: Introductions and Such
Tue, April 10, 2007 - 11:31 PMHi everyone,
I'm Andrea....aka veganskater....'cause I'm a vegan & a speed skater.
And more recently a hooper...
but that's just the externals.
I'm a drug and alcohol virgin, aside from being given a few sips of beer and wine when I was a child. I've never so much as smoked a cigarette. And--I'm perfectly happy to have it stay this way.
I am a very passionate person including a passionate commitment to the idea and practice of finding natural highs.
I am very much looking forward to seeing you all for our first run on Saturday! I will be bringing a friend and colleague, Gillian, a totally amazing woman who you'll all adore meeting. -

I am currently in the process of recovery and as such am in the process of learning who I am. This has been an amazing journey thus far, I am seeing myself as I REALLY am for the first time in my life.
I value my personal relationships with those who I know and look forward to knowing others that I will surely meet along this crazy path called life. I have had a very cool and interesting life, full of pain, smiles, friendships and love.
In short, life is really good and purposeful. Huggs to all : )
