Now that we have some bodies. How about everyone post a short introduction and what drew them to Gothic Bellydance.

    HEY GOTH CREW AND GOTHBOSS;

    OK.........what drew me to Gothic Bellydance?

    M/s Saahirah Rayvn of course!

    Saw her dancing 2 years ago at Pyramid Pulse with a Bellydance troupe, she so impressed me that I had to speak to her back-stage. Since then she's had the balls to go out on her own, make her own way IN her own way, and stuff-em-all.

    I can only hope that some of her charisma and determination will rub off on me - her devoted Gothic Apprentice.

    Luv
    KAZ

    Hi Saahirah,

    My name is Faedra and I've recently joined the bellydance community and I'm researching different styles and techniques. I'm curious about what defines gothic bellydance (if there is in fact a definition?) and I'm interested in learning about it. I know next to nothing about the style but I'd love to learn. Are there any sites or links that provide good information on the style? Thanks so much!

      Welcome Faedra :)
      Gothic Bellydance in short is Oriental and/or Tribal Bellydance fused with elements of the gothic subculture. As far as definitions goes - that depends on each persons dance journey and their background. But really we are goths who just so happen to bellydance or people who are curious about the way gothic bellydancers dance and want to try.
      The best site is
      gothicbellydance.com/gothicbellydance/
      this site will give you a great basic understanding of the fusion. Have alook also at the gothic bellydance tribes that I am a member of - and check them out.

    Hi Saahira and everyone!

    I've been interested in using a darker, more theatrical edge in my bellydancing since I started my first class. I've joined this tribe with the aim of keeping somewhat updated on the baby Australian Gothic Bellydance scene.

    see ya all around!

    hey Rayvn!
    found you all by myself.. Just trust in Her and it will be provided... THAT is how I found you and Gothic fusion.. Gothic lets me "let go" to the music,,, expressing what is in the music and in my heart.... a total synergy of expression...
