About the class:
This group class is geared towards beginners with little to no previous dance experience, set at an aggressive pace with optional layering to also keep experienced dancers engaged. We will cover the fundamentals of this ancient dance form, including posture, yoga-based stretches, core-strengthening exercises and isolations, basic movements broken down step-by-step, short combos, performance technique, improvisation and music interpretation. Strengthen your connection with your body, cultivate grace, get physically fit, and tap into your own spiritual strength within a supportive group environment. Wear clothing you can move and stretch in such as yoga pants and a sports bra or tank top. Belly dance is traditionally done barefoot, or you can wear soft-soled dance shoes.
