Howdy y'al...
I was lucky enough to receive a chakrassage from Jason Auer-Sears at the last Sacred Centers workshop I attended in Mill Valley several months ago. One element that made a lasting impression was Jason's use of vibration from his voice. The transference of vibration from the sounds he made to my body was, to me, a revolutionary massage technique.
Soon after the workshop ended, I received the following letter from Jason which explains how he integrated some of the information he received at the Sacred Centers workshop into his work. Inspired and inspiring. Thanks to Jason for taking the time to share with us.
If you have any questions or comments, post 'em.

Inner and Outer Awareness: Integration of Sacred
Centers Coursework into a Bodywork Session
Elements of these courses were integrated:
• Energy Awareness (EA), Glenn Hartelius
• Sacred Centers Coaching (SCC), Lion Goodman
• Guiding the Journey (GJ), Selene Vega
This case study is an example of how this year's Sacred Centers Immersion courses are well integrated into a bodywork session. Let's call the client Jenna and me JAS.
Jenna has been a client of mine for at least 6 years. She has been seen routinely for chronic mid and upper back pain and hypertonicity. Last week was the first session she's had for over 10 months, which is unusual. Ordinarily Jenna attends to herself meticulously, but a parent passed away last year and she climbed into a soul searching desolation. Pushing her relatively lively personality away with her “big sister” character, she has become quiet and discreet. Jenna arrived saying she was ready to integrate her two distinct personalities.
Jenna was laying supine on the massage table. I performed general trigger point acupressure to her shoulders, chest, and upper back while we talked. Occasionally I would take my hands off of her, so she could focus on herself without interruption.
JAS: Jenna, I would suggest that you close your eyes and begin to breathe deeply. Notice which muscles are tight as you inhale fully. Notice which muscles are relaxed. And notice them with appreciation and without judgement (SCC and EA). Now, with your eyes closed, drop your attention from your head down into your 4th and 5th chakra area. With your mind's eye, do an internal scan of the area and see if you notice any energy patterns, like blocks or shapes that might interfere with your energy body (SCC and EA).
Jenna: (almost immediately) There is a disc, or a bowl.
JAS: And know that giving it descriptive qualities is an act of willpower and focus of your attention (SCC). Does the bowl have a specific location?
Jenna: ...It is between my chest and back, slightly off to the left.
JAS: Which way is it facing? Is it concave to your chest?
Jenna: It is concave to my back, convex to my chest. It is about the size of my two fists. (she held one fist inside the other hand)
JAS: Okay, great, does the bowl have any other noticeable qualities? Does it have a color?..a temperature?..a texture?
Jenna: It is smooth and warm on the outside. It!s red!..on the outside. It's cold and dark on the inside.
JAS: Notice these qualities with enthusiasm and appreciation, much like an artist who is studying this energy shape and preparing to paint its likeness on a canvas. Does it have movement?
Jenna: No. It is still.
JAS: Okay, with enthusiasm and appreciation, move with your attention like a laser beam directly into the center of the bowl. (SCC) Do you have that? Okay, notice if the energy shifts or if any of its qualities change with your attention in the center of it.
Jenna: It's bigger than I thought. It's a cave.
JAS: How does it feel to be there?
Jenna: It is quiet and safe. A little lonely.
JAS: Enjoying the quiet and the safety of the cave (GJ), perhaps you might ask what the cave is keeping you safe from.
Jenna: From other people!s needs. People's needy energy.
JAS: With enthusiasm and appreciation, ask the cave if it has any information for you.
Jenna: It says that I need to pay attention to me again. It wants me to move in.
JAS: Good, can you imagine for a moment what that would look like, and fill the inside of the cave with that vision? Great, now ask the cave if it needs anything from you.
Jenna: It wants a fire.
JAS: Can you do that? Great, now from the center of the cave, look around...has any kind of shift occurred?
Jenna: There is more color than I thought. And now it is warm and cozy.
JAS: And isn't it wonderful to have both safety and protection and color and warmth? (GJ)...........Looking around from the middle of the cave, perhaps you find yourself asking it if it needs anything else to help this integration.
Jenna: It's a he. And he wants some water....and water is trickling from the walls and running past me, toward the exit. It sounds nice. It's refreshing.
JAS: And isn't it magical to have the balance of all the elements present in the cave? Earthen stone, warm fire, trickling water, the sound of your breath. (GJ)
Jenna: Oh, I am sitting on a large velvet cushion, the purply color of my curtains in my apartment.
JAS: With appreciation and gratitude, begin to sketch or paint this complete image on your canvas.....let me know when you have done that.....okay, now I am going to ask you to move with your awareness out to the outside of your cave and bring your attention to your 4th chakra. Breathe in through the back body and out through the front body (EA). As you inhale, draw energy in through the back and pass it through the front like an energy floss. And here you are in the center of the cave next to your fire, and suddenly a gentle warm breeze moves through the cave, creating sound and a dance of light. And isn't it good to know that your awareness can be in all three locations at the same time (GJ), truly embodying yourself?....Inside the cave with the fire and your cushion...outside and around the cave, embodying your chest and upper back, and out here in your personal space, where you can regulate flow and contact....With appreciation, dive into the center of this energy and feel whether or not this feels complete for now. (SCC)
It was complete for the moment. Jenna then turned onto her stomach. After more acupressure, I found it appropriate to place my singing bowl on her upper back. We heard it echo through and around her cave. I encouraged Jenna to actually draw her images. She does this quite often, so she agreed. I have had about six session much like this over the past week. I combine it with other Chakrassage techniques, such as Bodymantra (assisted stretch with vocal toning and visualization) It has all been quite dynamic. I will share more soon.
