Once, I heard this Blessing in India during a wedding blessing ceremony. I heard it first in Sanskrit than in English (the wording, however, is not precise).
"Be like Shiva and Parvati
Do your duty with proper zeal
May the world be benefited by your service
and...
May you be like an effulgence .... a white effulgence
for the entire universe."
Honestly, this is the blessing I wish to give to all who have a beautiful "sacred relationship."
I mention this blessing because a "sacred relationship serves the universe" and uplifts it. It's not just about "me and my beloved," although that is a good too and reason to rejoice. Love can travel horizontally and embrace more and more beings, depending how much the mind and heart grows in magnitute and generosity.

Tue, July 29, 2008 - 6:38 PMIt sure is true that I came across relationships which perceived possessiveness and jealousy as part part and parcel of a sacred connection. Certainly, I feel more than fortunate to not experience such a false connection, and I hope I will never will experience something of that nature. Possessiveness is not sacred = is not even love.

I have to be honest. It is easy to forget or never to see how one's relationship with each other can expand past ourselves.
I hope to remember that when i find something so beautiful. -
