Bells of Prayer

Greetings creators of sacred spaces,

Special to join with those who share an affinity with this calling...

I can remember, I think,
In mists of nostalgia,
When their were Temples
That were always open
and as prevalent as
Starbucks in cities

You could kneel
into the Earth
lighting a candle
for the moment
On an altar
to the Now
whose leaves move the wind

and then
prayer break was sung
to a close
with a bell

and you returned to your work—
centered and attuned with the sacred

Bells like these saved my life once…
Gut wrenching
Feverish delirium
Alone in hotel
Muslim Sulawesi
Just back from living with the Boat People
In floating village
Where sewage and cooking water were one and the same

On hotel bed—
Unable to move
Hallucinating on ceiling
Pissing through sheets
my body witnessing its death,
dying

Merging
surrendered sweetness and terrifying completion

The bells…the bells…
The bells of prayer
Rung five times daily through
City speakers
With her singing
And his loud preaching,
low sun through white window
Easy moon in my belly
The bells
Ringing
They were…
nudging a nostalgic memory

that brought me back
to this, to life, to myself
and to my Raven's claws, reaching for the sun,
planting it closer to humanity
through sounds of chimes on the hour
i will build bells, I declared,
to refurnish city lives
with stillness.

i will build
until humanity becomes a species of bellerians,
drinking in and fed
through the resonance of prayer.

Isis Oasis

I have for the last 2.3 years been diving into the sacred space of the Vegas
Vortex, making this desert land and its fire community my home.
Transitions are about me now as I will be leaving this Vegas home the
end of January.

I leave Las Vegas and the Sekhmet Temple , bringing the red sol-ar to
the violet infused forest of Isis 's Oasis.

Last summer I began the initial plottings for a sacred space in Las Vegas
that I was calling The White Peacock, a Sanctuary in the City. You
can see its initial design at
www.whitepeacock.org . This center fell through, but the magic of
The White Peacock has opened its tail again and shown me the way
to a sanctuary in Northern California (1.5 hours from S.F., 1 hour from Marin, 30 min
from Sebastopol, 45 min from Harbin Hotsprings) that I will be
bringing a fresh infusion of energy to. This is an Egyptian themed,
30 yr. old retreat center called Isis Oasis
(www.isisoasis.org) I will be coming in as a marketer/sales rep., as
well as revamping the website and bringing a new vision to the
business side of things in addition to the creative use of the 10
acres of land that make up this sanctuary. The owner, Lady Loreon,
is growing old and having trouble moving with her arthritis. I hope
to help her make a transition to a life that honors her as an elder.
Much is unknown and much is yet to be discovered…however, spirit is
calling me forward on this path BIG TIME. The synchronicities have
been obnoxiously thorough. And so, I have accepted this invitation
to invest myself in this new way.

There are so many possibilites for re-visioning Isis Oasis. What do we, as a Tribe, need from an established Sanctuary/retreat center/performance space like this? Let us collaborate in ways that bring forth a sustainable, Earth worshipping sanctuary for the collective nurturing of all life. I am available for any conversations in these regards. Let your dreams be heard. Now is the time to create magick pertinent for today with the fabulous prima materia that is currently Isis's Oasis.
