The High Priestess

"The High Priestess" is not an aspect attributed to Goddess
that I have seen in my searching.

I, myself, see The Priestess as the integration of the triple aspect --the balanced, sum total, if you will, of Maiden, Mother and Crone.

So, I dedicate this thread to Her . . .

Looking forward to seeing Her from my beloved sisters' perspectives . . .

Blessed Be~

I think for me, I see the role of High Priestess as one that manifests in myself through service to Goddess and others since the role of Priestess is one of service to a diety.

Since we all carry that light of divinity, I see the Priestess-aspect as an expresion of my devotion to Her in the way I interact with others. It is a part of me that is inseperable from my true self and how I honor Her presence within.

I don't claim to be able to maintain perfect Priestesshood at all times but it is something I feel is a part of who I am.

    Blessings,
    *B*

Recognizing that we are not perfect is what enables us to be true and pure vessels for Great Goddess. I do not believe pure = perfection, myself. It is more like 'pure of heart' in our desire to serve Her and Her children.

I believe it is the Mother aspect that we call upon (aware or unaware) when we recognize our errors. It is by allowing our Mother to reside within and whisper to us that we are able to learn from our mistakes, make the necessary adjustments and then balance as necessary.

Thereby, our knowledge is transformed to wisdom, where 'Wise Grandmother' rules.

I love your insight regarding the role of the Priestess . . . I had not even thought of that. What a lovely truth you have expressed and shared!

I see The Priestess as being the physical manifestation of the integration and union of the Triple Goddess aspect --Us!

Hmmm. . . Is it just me, or are we sometimes hesitant to embrace this inherent power within us?

      Blessings Abound~

We are very hesitant...there is so much responsibility and expectation even. Embracing our power has not been easy for most of us. Living up to the title of Goddess incarnate is daunting.
We KNOW through our work that it is part of what we must do, part of what our Earth needs is for us to take that responsibility and channel that love and power.
There is a feeling for me of not wanting to be that woman who always feels the need to control or direct the energy, to be open to how She wants to direct me.
I believe as the High Priestess, we must get out of the way in some respects and think less, BE more.
Truly it is service. It is not a well known role it is one of those we are rediscovering.
It takes many faces and energies.
I hope and pray we can bring all those who wish to know it closer to being their own High Priest/ess and less about "who's running this ritual?"
        Blessed Be

I agree with you. I had a question about this topic recently, and I asked my boyfriend whos is my greatest spiritual mentor. We came up with a list together.
Some Services and Practices of a High Priestess:

Performs divine rituals as the master of spiritual ceremony.

Herbology and foods as natural medicine.

Geomancy (energy grid work) and elemental earth divination.

Astral travel and Dream body Healing.

Summoning elders and angelic sprits for loving and healing purposes only.

She makes her own magical objects, jewelry, and concoctions for ceremony

By dedicating her life to the healing of the earth, she directly supports love, life, nurturance, sustainability, and peace, for all life.

Love making with the wisdom of Tantra (the sacred art of sensuality)

          The only catch is …

          It may take ten years

Feeling the High Priestess as an aspect of your makeup is wonderful -and a sign that you are feeling the bloom of your life's expression. Thanks for sharing your adoration of the Goddess in the High Priestess aspect!

Historically the High Priestess performed the special role of administrator and spiritual leader of the highest position.

In one aspect, as the head of the order, she performs ceremonial and organizational duties appropriate to her position of responsibility. In another aspect, as spiritual leader, she embodies the Goddess while demonstrating spiritual wisdom, justice, insight, love and compassion. In a representative sense, in imagery and inspirational prose, is seems the High Priestess is less the subject of renown -with other aspects of the Goddess more commonly depicted.

On a personal level, each of us have a psychological-spiritual evolution to undergo which includes the fundamental phases of growth (Maiden, Mother, Crone for women; Warrior, Father, Sage for men). Additional aspects include the High Priestess-Priest, Witch-Magician, Queen-King. A psycho-spiritually healthy and balanced woman/man transitions through each phase and adds aspects throughout their life, accumulating elements and lessons from each phase/aspect, eventually reaching the maximum potential of expression that individual has allowed to manifest in their life.

Blessings and Salutations to the Goddess in her High Priestess aspect!
