Hi, I noticed that Saida's Vol. 2 is now out. I got a copy off of ebay. Has anyone seen it yet? Anyone know what she covers on this one? I'm so happy she's putting out more dvd's.

Fri, October 19, 2007 - 5:54 PMI did a little of disc 1, a little of the choreo and watched the rest. (wuz kinda tired).
Disc 1 goes over 5 rhythims. They are Mosalas, Georgina, mosalas Iraqui, Samai Thaqil, and Karsilama. I believe there are two combinations per rhythm, so vol. 2's disc 1 is shorter than in vol.1. In addition to the rhythms, Mario and Saida explain what the taxim is. They go over the beledi taxsim and the kanun taxim. Finally, Saida dances to an improv with the kanun and the tabla.
Disc 2 is the beledi choreograpgy. Its divided into 26 or 27 combinations. So yes, it is a long choreography and a little challenging. Finally, the disc closes with 6 or 7 performances by Saida. Seven!
Overall, I like what i saw. Not only are Mario and Saida excellent instructors but the dvd is chock-full of useful information and dazzling performance that will no doubt inspire me. Now that I got vol.2 , I'm hoping there will be a vol.3. *wishes* -
