We finally are showing up on the Statesman after the photographer and the journalist came down. If you go to the Statesman website, click on 'mulitmedia>photos' then scan down the page you will find a little album of drum circle photos that the photographer took. I look like freakin Stevie Wonder in the one he put up of me, how embarrassing! Also, if you go to the main Statesman webpage and search for 'salem community drum circle', there will be a link to the article written about us.

I'm having some issues with that article because first of all, we meet every week, not every other week. Secondly, there were some things he quoted me on specifically that I never said. So... that kind of sucks, but at least it got our name out there I suppose.

Other than that, I know of no other news. Wendy... do you know when the Pagan Pride Festival in Beaverton is and if we have been invited to it? Seems like that should be coming up.

Plan on some time in October moving to our winter location. Hopefully the new Salem Senior Center will be ready in time, but if not we'll have a backup location ready. Sharon had also mentioned something about a place in one of the buildings downtown that might be available.

Anybody else have any news???

The article from last Wednesday was rerun on Sunday - but with some corrections so its not quite as bad as it was - they still don't know who started the group or when but what the heck, they finally got the day right AND sent it out to everyone in the valley instead of just one small portion. Some sort of strange kismet there though - our article ran the same day as the one about the new Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukie, WI. dee do dee do dee do dee do (that's the Twilight Zone music of course!!)

Have posted some new pictures for your enjoyment and will see what else my little brain can come up with!
