The Fall Schedule at Saffron Dance is out - This means a whole new lot of awesome classes - including new ATS classes - YEAH! :)
This semester, Saffron will offer for ATS:
American Tribal Style Belly Dance Basic, starting Sept 9 on Tuesdays at 8:15
American Tribal Style Belly Dance Advanced, starting Sept 10 on Wednesdays at 7:30
American Tribal Style Belly Dance Performance Troupe Class, starting Sept 10 on Wednesdays at 8:30
I am very excited to also note that I will extending my own studies this semester by becoming teacher certified :) I will have an "official" crediential to teach :) and the knowledge of how to conduct class ATS format under my belt, to offer in the classroom :):)

PURE AMERICAN TRIBAL STYLE BELLY DANCE CLASSES at SAFFRON DANCE
Tribal Technique 1: American Tribal Style Basics
September 9th to December 16th: Tuesday at 8:15pm, Tribal Technique 1
In this class, you will break down belly dance posture for ATS movement, learn the basic slow and fast movements fundamental to Pure ATS, and be introduced to ATS improv format and zilling. Movements will include Taxeem, Hand Floreos, Body Wave, Egyptian, Arabic, Hip Bump Combinations, Shimmies, Turns and other basic movements used in professional ATS improve. In this class, we will learn just how ATS dancers move! Zils are required for this class.
Tribal Technique 3: American Tribal Style Format and Advanced Movement
September 10th to December 17th: Wednesday at 7:30, Tribal Technique 2
In this class we will learn how to take ATS movement to the next level and streamline your communication with each other according to the ATS format, so that you can become prepared to dance with an ATS belly dance troupe or refine your foundation for creative modern tribal fusion belly dance. In the class we will introduce advanced variations to the basic ATS movements, introduce ATS advanced movements, streamline the ATS improv format so that you will be prepared to lead or follow with any ATS dancer, introduce advanced cues and transitions, and fully integrate zilling into all fast movement. Movements learned in this class will include calibrated spins, fades, advanced ATS combinations, floorwork, head balancing, and belly rolls. Zils are required for this class.
American Tribal Style Performance Company Class
September 10th to December 17th: Wednesday at 8:30, Tribal Technique Workshop Series
This class is for advanced belly dancers, fluid in American Tribal vocabulary technique, only. This class will concentrate on refining movements and format, streamlining performance technique in a variety of styled formats, developing creative movement within the ATS format, and developing professional expertise in movement, set and music choices, and costume design. Students are expected to know all of the major American Tribal Style belly dance movements and basic improv format before entering this class; ATS movements will be refined, but not taught, in this class. This class provides performance opportunities for the serious ATS dancer. Zils are required for this class.

Instructor's Bio:
Jennifer has been studying American Tribal Style belly dance since 1996 and became FatChanceBellyDance General Skills certified in June 2006. Jennifer continues her study with dance format creator Carolena Nericcio and will be repeating her General Skills Certification in September 2008. Jennifer has also been accepted into Carolena’s prestigious Teacher Training program, and will be completing this in September 2008 as well. Jennifer has a strong connection to maintaining the authenticity of Pure ATS so that dancers can leave the classroom confident that they have received reliable, consistent Pure ATS instruction, so that they can dance with anyone in our global ATS tribe. Jennifer is dedicated to developing American Tribal Style belly dance technique for students and this format’s presence in the Washington, DC area. Jennifer is also the Co-founder of Pure ATS dance troupe, Sammati. During the day, Jennifer is a socially responsible investment advisor.
