Re: Where or where are the hoopers?
Fri, July 31, 2009 - 12:51 AMValentina (aka Unity) teaches classes in Ocean Beach, HoopCharmer in the Mira Mesa area (I think), and Nayeli (from Hoop Nectar) in Encinitas. Occasionally UCSD offers classes as well. I took one last quarter from a friend of mine, and am now taking one over the summer with Unity.

Re: Where or where are the hoopers?
Fri, July 31, 2009 - 1:49 PMi started hooping a few months ago and never took a class. I just went to the beach and hooped with my friends, and just my playing with the hoop and vibing off the energy of my friends, we all taught ourselves how to dance with the hoop and learned tricks.
Four months later, I took one of Unity's classes and it was great. She's an awesome teacher and I learned about 4 tricks in one hour. I suggest getting a feel for the hoop yourself and trying to do as much as you can on your own, so then if you do decide to take a class you are more prepared and will learn more quickly.
PS, you can usually always find hoopers in Ocean Beach! That's where I live and hoop!!!
