    I too have been going there for many years. The last time I went though, a year ago or so, I got food poisoning and that sucked big time. Still it was an institution.

      Well..........aside from being cheap, I've felt that place is was a dump.

      Maybe they are remodeling.

    I've never been a fan, though on the positive side, it kept some folks away from my favourite spot across the street, Warakubune.

    The place is covered up with no signage at all right now.

    I'll tell you a pretty wild story. I moved to SF in the summer of 1980, and lived for about ten years near 18th and Sanchez.

    "No-Name Sushi" opened sometime around 1985, can't remember exactly, but it was the very first sushi bar I had ever been to. And at some point, I too got food poisoning from eating there. I overlooked it the first time, then it happened again and finally I quit going.

    You have to remember that I was a poor punk rocker at the time, working in a magazine sales office and living most of the time on free food from the Hari Krishna house up near Carl and Cole. So eating sushi, even poison sushi, was still "living it up" in my world.

    I'll always look back fondly.

    -->S.
