Sun, March 9, 2008 - 10:21 AMwow, I think it was Hog City Oysters?
I just made me some lazy but simple homemeal and tasty clam chowder by progresso. I'd advise if you enjoy clams then get the extra minced clams in the broth. -

Have you been to Swan's Oyster Bar? I haven't been to either restaurant, but based on your suggestion, I'll check both of the out.
Thanks! -

Tue, March 25, 2008 - 1:38 PMNo SF, but we had some in Monterey on the wharf last weekend and it was quite good. I generally don't take their food seriously, but the taster out front drew us in. The old fisherman's grotto. The other taster we did (can't even remember the place) was remarkably ordinary. -

Re: Best Clam Chowder
Thu, March 27, 2008 - 9:57 PMI highly recommend Cafe Maritime on Lombard. Not only is their chowder good but pretty much all of their seafood and menu is excellent. A warning to chowder purists... sometimes they make unconventional chowder with all sorts of yummy seafood in it. They will usually let you decide what you want in it if you ask and occasionally they will have a several options, but that isn't always the case.
They are open until 1am which is another nice aspect of the place. I used to live in that part of the city and that restaurant is one that I miss the most for being able to drop by late.
