I dare not attempt an eloquent review... but suffice it to say that if I questioned the quality of the play presented at UCSC's beautiful outdoor "FESTIVAL GLEN" theater, I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy one of the better Shakespeare productions I'd seen in many years.
Kate Eastwood Norris and Ian Merril Peakes (Beatrice and Benedick, respectively) were excellent. Notably the two characters that lead this story and tackle a combination of comic relief, sharp and witty repartee, and even a singe-like romantic tension... did a tremendous job and I would like to see these actors in other roles sometime soon.
Thanks Tracy and Bret for stoking this. Included among my festivals, performances, and travel... this dusk time performance in the redwoods was a highlight of my summer.
