Sisters in Abraham, Sisters in Peacepublic - created 08/02/07 |
|
We are sisters in PEACE. We celebrate the common elements that unite us. We celebrate a heritage of richness of faith and universal love. We celebrate the One True G-d, the One and only Universally Merciful, the Compassionate, the only Creator, and the only Sustainer. The only One Who has given us breath, the only One we come from, and the only One to Whom we return. We seek the peace, love, mercy and divine compassion manifest in each of our traditions, which resonates, radiates, and releases this within us, beyond ourselves.
In all three of our traditions, Abraham is revered as the first monotheist, the first to forsake sin in the true worship of the one and only true G-d. In is sense, he is our father and we are all his daughters. Even though we are daughters of two different mothers, Sarah and Hajar, Abraham is the father of us all. As identifying as Sisters in Abraham, we are celebrating, claiming, and defining, that there is more holding us together in peace and sisterhood, than there is separating us apart.
Insha'Allah, Lord willing, Shalom, Salaam...PEACE!

The Rules of our Tent...
Brothers in Abraham are welcome to join us, but this is primarily a discussion group for women.
We are from many backgrounds, many ideas, many beliefs. The Qur'an says G-d has given the races and nations of the earth to us as a sign of His greatness! The Torah teaches, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." The Gospel brings a new commandment, "As I have loved you, love one another!"
It is fundamental to our belief that we are here to love, not to judge. G-d is the Only Judge, to Him be only that place and only the wisdom, compassion, and mercy to Be such. The world is full of it and you won't have to look far. We seek to heal the world, a mitzvah, not to hurt it.
We DO NOT allow attempts at conversion or pressure to any sister to conform her to another tradition.
