Saturn conjunct natal moon

topic posted Wed, November 19, 2008 - 11:46 AM by  kalikat
right now saturn is slowing down, it will station on the exact degree of my moon and turn retrograde on the 31st where it will sit for about a month before starting to move back (or appear to move back, as the case may be).

point is, saturn's exact on my moon for about 3 months.

i was pretty depressed earlier this year when it went over natal jupiter. the depression lifted over this summer and fall, but i'm wondering if it will come back...although last time saturn was conjunct my moon i was a senior in high school and life was pretty damn good. i had tons of friends, i was in love for the first time, doing good in school....definitely not depressed.

anyone have any experiences to share of this transit?

Funnily enough, that was one of the most creative times of my life ever, as a lot of ideas on how to work with certain mixed media crystallised. The framing was a big part of that too. I was on holiday in Lanzarote and was very inspired by the volcano national park. That was in 1992.

However, it also saw the total dissolving of all the bonds that had kept me in the neighbourhood there was, when one of our group went into a deep depression and jumped off a train. I did not like the way he was bequesathing all his responsibilities to me, but after only a short while, there was no more time in which to talk to him. Also, in the week I exhibited my newest work, there was a 'black Wednesday,' deepening the recession going on at the time in the UK.

"that was one of the most creative times of my life ever,"

funny you mention that, i have been undergoing this huge creative streak...totally absorbed in doing art for the first time in years. i figured it was b/c jupiter is exactly trine the moon (while saturn is conjunct). we'll see what happens as jupiter moves on from the trine aspect, while saturn stays....

That could also mean that you are able to materialise the creativity from your Jupiter-moon trine in some kind of Saturnine way. Perhaps you are better able to organise your thoughts and put it into writing or painting rather than just let it go round in circles in your head.

(ps. the jupiter conjunction is by transit too - saturn and jupiter are trine in the sky right now - saturn in virgo on my moon, jupiter in cap. trine the moon)

The Jupiter-Saturn trine sounds very helpful, maybe for a lot of people, if it ties in with a personal planet, angle, or luminary.

There weren't any Jupiter transits to my Moon in 1992, but what I do now see is that Jupiter crossed my Midheaven, when I put on the exhibtion. Maybe I would have chosen a different time to have one had I paid more attention to this, as my MC is square Saturn. (Saturn also conjoined natal Ceres when there was the loss mentioned before, did not know that at the time either). I have often found that having interviews when the Sun crosses it - often along with Mercury and Venus at the end of September - can not always turn out well, often because of certain kinds of prejudice.

Going back to the title of the thread, it does seem to me that transits of many kinds can work on different levels, inner or outer: on an inner level, the Saturn transit to my Moon was very inspiring and creative, on an outer level, in dealings with other people, there were certainly separations and losses (My Moon rules the 8th House):

did you find that you felt very isolated and alone while saturn was on your moon? i'm finding that i have less energy to foster friendships where similar values weren't shared, or where its been a drain to maintain a connection - those friendships have for the most part disappeared. for the most part socializing has slowed way down - i'm sensing this time is more about introspection and spiritual work, but it gets kinda lonely at times. for the most part i really love being alone, and don't often feel lonely so this is new for me.

At the very beginning of the year, Kat, I did have a bad experience with an official, but Saturn was still 7 or 8 degrees away from my Moon. I felt very isolated then and when someone who was advocating cases like ours got the flu for several weeks, and my BF had recently moved a long way away - that did feel bad. When the transit was exact, though, I felt too involved in what I was doing to feel isolated. It was after the transit was over that the loneliness made itself felt, as the community I had been involved in had broken up, because of what had happened, and in the end I moved away from the whole part of the world I had grown up in.

I have certainly found that the transit square from Saturn to Moon can be really tough from this point of view, feeling alone, and sometimes it may be necessary to walk away from bosses or other people whose demands go beyond just 'tough' to 'unreasonable.' I have an exact Saturn semi-square Moon anyway and in the last few years, I found I did not have the energy to go out much any more and I was finding that those who are not working don't understand how a demanding timetable can take it out of you. I suppose the lack of understanding of the people I knew at the time annoyed me, especially when one of them started lecturing about the need to get used to not getting enough sleep for example - when she was on disability and never needed to work full-time with anti-social hours. Perhaps you are just getting a bit more choosy about your friends, not wanting any superficiality - or 'fair-weatherness' come to that. You may, on theother hand, also find that there are other allies who can be more of a friend in places where you might not have expected though, even if they are not necessarily of the 'tea and sympathy' kind.

yeah...actually a lot of friends that i've had for over 10 and more years are falling away, just not that much in common anymore. many of them party a lot and i'm just not into partying that much anymore. i am slowly making friends who share similar values but its slow....just like saturn i guess. :) and actually if i think about it, saturn has been sextiling venus for the last few months as well. big changes afoot. i'm just eating up jupiter's energy while its here, once he moves on it;ll just be me and saturn in the playpen.....all december, january and feburary. woo hoo.

i have been having this strong urge to spend time with my parents lately. i am considering subletting my house for a month (January) or more to do this. about a week ago i realized that the time i would be there is when saturn will be stationary retrograde directly conjunct my moon.

do people think this is a bad idea? i can imagine that it might turn out to be difficult spending this time with my mother in particular, as it is the moon that is involved ... and yet its such a strong pull to spend time with them, especially since i'm not working right now - and they aren't getting any younger.
                    any thoughts?

Perhpas you shpould also ask your parents how they feel about this. The Saturn transit to your Moon may be giving rise to an awareness that your parents may not be here forever, or that the roles of who is the carer, who is to be cared for, are reversing now. Perhaps there may be a need to resolve unfinished business with them.

i don't feel any desire to get into any heavy processing with them. i do want to show them some lovin - i am definitely feeling the fact that they won't be around forever. they are both in excellent health tho, knock on wood - my dad is still working at 80, my mother is heavily involved in charity work at 76. they have responded very positively to me coming down there, and as far as i know they are looking forward to it as much as i am.

Well I suppose Saturn may just be to do with old age and being around older people, then, in connecting with roots.

Probably any concerns about possibly processing wih parents may be more mine, with the current Pluto transit to Saturn, which smi-squares Moon for me.

Mine are 75 and sem healthy still but I rarely see my family, because of the distance.

                            thanks for your opinons...

I was worried because I have a tendency towards depression anyway and I was worried about it...I have Saturn transiting and conjuncting
my moon in the 10th house ( Moon in Libra). Although it seems like things are going better for my career (I am coming out of a Saturn conjuncting my midheaven, Jupiter is sextiling Mars in the 6th) _ I am concerned.

Has anyone ever experienced anything about how it would influence your moon the 10th?

any help would be appreciated because I am not looking forward to this period (it is supposed to lasts for about a year)...

Hi all ! Very interesting experiences you share here !

Does Saturn conj. natal moon relate to your mother(s) at all, or is it
mainly about YOU, your feelings, and the way you nurture your emotions ?

Is it more about your loneliness, or is it related to your mom being away, or sick etc ?
