I'm working on a personal little project here...but I'm looking for recipes for foods found in the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires around the time of the Fall of Constantinople (1453 CE)...so 15th century Greek or Turkish recipes should work.

Mon, August 28, 2006 - 1:19 PMAndrew Dalby's book _Flavours of Byzantium_ should give you a great start on what you need. As a backup, I'd also suggest Henry Marks's book _Byzantine Cuisine_, though you should be aware that the translations in his book are suspect. -
