You know, I was going to try to write this post in Danish, but my Danish is pretty poor (and given how badly Danish is usually slaughtered by non-danes I thought I'd spare everyone). I'm Danish myself (was born there) but my folks moved to the US when I was less than 2 and never spoke it to me when I was growing up so I never really picked it up. They insisted I learn English since I was growing up in America and that I should "learn to speak like an American".
Anyway, I just wanted to drop in and see if anybody knows any Danes living in Michigan who would be willing to work with me on my Danish. I'd really like to get better at it so I don't sound like a retarded 2-year-old, especially when I go back to visit family and friends. I don't know that I'll ever speak it like a native (even though technically I am), but I at least want to fully understand a conversation and participate. You know, more than just saying, "Ja ja..." after every phrase everyone else says... :)
Thanks,
Rune
