friends from san fransisco have convinced me to go to my first burning man in 2009. they've got all kinds of advice, but can't really tell me about the logistics of getting me, my stuff, and my daughter and her boyfriend (who are living in ohio) out there from so far east. they say we should mail our stuff to their house and fly out, rent a car and caravan in with them. i have enough slack to drive, but my daughter probably will not.
any words of wisdom from you who have made the trek?

Thu, April 2, 2009 - 7:28 PMAsk your friends in Frisco to come up with some camping gear
for you, and whatever else you will need that won't fit on the plane.
Fly into Frisco with your costumes and some cash for your friends.
Lots of cash. Bring a valid credit card and don't think
about it too much till it's all over.
Worked for me.
