Re: Why....
Tue, April 17, 2007 - 1:13 PMI am new here (a couple of months) and I have noticed the same thing. I thought for sure that the "writing" tribes would be right there with information and support for their fellow writers. I understand about being busy and having a life outside of tribe.net. Honestly do all the writers that belong to these tribes, really know it all? Do they really have all the answers? And if they do, why don't they want to share it with the rest of us. It is hard to believe I am the only one out there that still has questions and frustrations about writing. Okay, maybe that was a little harsh but come on people! -

Tue, April 17, 2007 - 2:25 PMShould you perhaps facilitate discussion then?
Ask some questions? -

Re: Why....
Wed, April 18, 2007 - 1:52 PMI knew that my last post would be taken too literally. I didn't mean to be so harsh. I have posted questions on other tribes but I have not cross posted. Is that normal? Like I said I am new here. Sorry if I rubbed anybody the wrong way. -

Nope, not at all. :-)
For me, when I'm writing, it's hard to think of my writing in terms of things I should be posting on tribe...I don't have all the answers, certainly, so what gives me the right to post a thesis in a writing tribe? If I'm having trouble, I don't usually vent, because then I would have to admit I'm not superhuman, and what would that do to my plans to take over the world? *G*
On the other hand, if someone is struggling and posts a question, I usually think of six hundred things to say, and do that when I should be writing. LOL...
Mostly I was just wondering...if you have any specific questions. Didn't mean to quash you - not in the least. Welcome in, and don't worry about it. Oh, and some cross-posting is perfectly normal, I believe etiquette says to state it's a cross-post so people can ignore it if they want...

Re: Why....
Tue, December 25, 2007 - 10:48 PMHaven't been writing because reality has crowded in.
I lost my job and I've been too busy trying to find a new one. I'm one of those weird people that actually puts a roof over my haed and food in my belly over my art.
When I can do the first two, I can relax enough to write and more. -

Re: Why....
Wed, December 26, 2007 - 5:07 AMDeborah, good luck! I hear you on the priorities. I've been going gangbusters over here while I can, because I spent more than a decade working multiple shifts and being the only wage-earner in my household. I finally got to a place where I had the time, space, and presence of mind to write and am now trying to make up for lost time.
All the frustrations from my years of living like a zombie help me reach the dark places in my characters, so nothing is wasted. Keep hanging in there and keep the faith...
