May 17th at Hannons Camp America is the 29th annual St. Alphonso's Pancake Breakfast. Basically...Saturday morning at the ass-crack of dawn a HUGE batch of "green" pancakes are made and consumed until they're all out. Then regular pancakes until everyone's full.
The local 513-859 union of fire tenders will be busting our cherries for the season. We're planning to come out Friday night and have a small fire with our first large fire of the year Saturday night.
It's free, though purchase of the year's original T-shirt is strongly encouraged.
Hope to see ya'll there!

Re: St. Alphonso'sPancake Breakfast
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 6:40 AMjust wanted everyone to get the jist of this party:
1) it's semi -secretive because of the nature of the event
2) it's really only a party from about 9am Sat -5pm or until all attendees are passed out
3) only a small group of volunteers stay Fri, not many stay Sat-it hasn't always been a camping event, so not many plan that way
4) this is the 30th anniversary of the party -old timey townies!
5) it's based on Frank Zapa song -Jim Beam & green pancakes
all are welcome & I'm glad Pokes posted, because I'm bad bad bad about events! Elizabeth is working on our website & getting better at posting events there.
hope to see you all there!

Re: St. Alphonso'sPancake Breakfast
Sat, May 10, 2008 - 8:30 AMYeah! m&m's make friends you know! And, note: they melt in your mouth, not in your hands. Lot's to say there. I love sexual in-your-end-dos. That sounds better spoken than written.
Glad you hear you're coming up Phillip! Can't wait to see you again.

Fri, May 16, 2008 - 7:05 AMYes, folx. We'll be there. Looks like I'm going to be out tonight to help Mac get a small artsy fire together only to turn around and go home around midnight as I've got an appt at 8:30 in Hamilton tomorrow morning. But, I'll be back around 10am and be on it all day getting a big ol fire together for ya'll.
Can't wait to see everyone!

Re: St. Alphonso'sPancake Breakfast
Sun, May 18, 2008 - 8:30 PMThe irresistible force and the immovable object, and the cook not showing up, delayed the cooking of pancakes until way late, practically making it impossible to stay long. We did not prepare a picnic basket just in case and had to leave right after getting a rather small cake each.
The 'Mage needs a certain amount of calories to keep from crashing hardcore.
Sorry we missed you.
