I figure attendance is likely to be light because a lot of ya will be out on the camping trip. But I thought I'd see how many people expect to attend. Also, how many of ya will be renting canoes instead of kayaks?

MAN! I can't do the camping trip because its a Sunday & I have to work. And now I see I can't do the kayaking for the same reason. I was hoping this outing was on Saturday.
Not asking for a change of date, just bummed that I can't do either. ;>(

Write your boss a note that says "Mr. PakBurger will be feeling sick on Sunday so I won't be able to come in". That should do it.

Mr PakBurger is his own boss and Sunday is when said MPB meets new clients and serves existing ones. Without said activity, MPB can't afford to support his many habits.
Additionally, MPB has been playing a Great Deal this summer already and "his boss" realizes that if he doesn't get active, daddy will take the keys to the T-Bird away.

Still wondering who plans to get out kayaking this weekend. If the only person not otherwise engaged is Pak, I'd be inclined to switch to Saturday so that he can join me.

Insiah & I are both interested in getting out on the water on Saturday. We're pretty inexperienced with Kayaks, but love em.
I've been out a few times and I suspect Insiah has been at least once or twice. If our inexperience slowed things down too much, we'd be happy to rent a canoe.
Thanks for thinking of me! -

Sounds very cool! Unless I hear from someone who'd been planning on Sunday and can't switch (don't want to bogart someone who'd already planned on coming), I think Saturday would work fine.
I'm sure you guys will be fine, I'm out there for the social angle not for a Manly Competition To Select The Group's Alpha Leader.

No worries, mate. -

I will not be able to go. I was planning on this event taking place on a Sunday. Now must work Saturday. Have fun:)

MorNene,
If you can still make Sunday, we'll leave it there.

If you go on Saturday looks like you will have 4 people; Pak and friend, Dirk and yourself.
If you go on Sunday you would have 3 people, myself, you and Dirk?
Hoave I got that correct?
So I think it is only fair to go on the day with the most participants. -

But you've already been planning on Sunday. The only reason I was thinking about switching is that I thought about everyone was heading out on the camping trip.
I'd like to go with Pak and his guest but have to give priority to prior announcements.

uhuh.. the event was originally set for Sunday.. I wandered in and whined about scheduling conflicts. Definitely needs to stay with Sunday.
Friend & I will go have sex or something to pass the time. -

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.

When you were saying it was on Sat-on-a-turd day I was finding an opening in my schedule. Sunday I have a gig in Enumcraw and can not make it do to conflicting time. You see I have an appt with a realtor. (!!!!!). Oh wait, he just text messaged me that he thinks he will be feeling sick on Sunday (!!!!)
Really - I am sorry to say, I would really like to join you all if I can. soreeeeeee

I can do Sunday. Might just be 2 or 3 people. Is your daughter coming along or Mrs G?

I'm glad the folks who camped out had a fun weekend but we managed to eke out a bit of fun here as well.
Ended up bringing Elise, the youngin (dubbed Kublah by Ms. MorNene) along to Agua Verde. We had thought with attendance so sparse that we might just scout out the yaking facilities and then adjourn to a restaurant for a bite to eat.
However, it ended up being a gorgeous day, so after a tasty Indian lunch (including much discussion of kids, with MorNene noting that Elise seems normal for a kid with me as a parent and a multi-person drawing contest with the restaurant owner's 3 year old), we returned to Agua Verde and rented a 3 person kayak. We paddled (sometimes 3 of us, when Elise wasn't slacking or trying to whack me with her oar) up into Lake Union and returned after about another hour.
We then decided to replentish our depleted energy supplies by indulging in a bit of ice cream. MorNene guided us to a yummy/funky looking ice cream place, oly to have the youngin hold out for a chain store. Ate ice cream. Returned home to Mrs. G.
All in all a VERY fun day. Thanks for joining us, MorNene! -

Yep we had great fun indeed.
But in all fairness I must set the record straight: The elder Khan (AKA Genghis), kept swacking his progeny (AKA Kublai) with his paddle. Several times I had to discipline the two brats. Had to teach Genghis to respect his elder.
I have also advised Elise on her rights as a kid. I tactfully suggested she create a "Kid Bill of Rights” and nail them upon her parent’s bedroom door.
Nothing like fomenting rebellion in other people's children now that mine have seceded from the parental units.
My dearest Dirk, even though we haven't met I missed you and any others who couldn't make it.
Glad the campers had fun. Glad we had fun. Us kayakers supplied the missing 50% to the camping thus making it a bicephalous doscentiumous hootelicious weekend of fun.
Thanks for the fun Ms Elise and Mr. Genghis!
