Saturday, June 10th
2pm tee off
Cal Anderson Park

What else are you going to do next Saturday afternoon? Come join us
for a raucous game of golf in the parking lots, alleys and streets of
Capitol Hill. We've had awesome response so far and have quite a few
teams signed up.
We'll be supplying special high-density foam golf balls to keep you
drunkards from damaging cars, buildings, pedestrians and such. We'll
also provide you a rule sheet, map and extra balls for the team
captain (in case you lose some).
All you need to bring is $3, a golf club( or hockey stick, shovel,
baseball bat...), and you're best golf outfit (
www.seattleurbangolf.com/outfit.html ).
Here's a run down of the game play:
We set teams out about every 15 minutes on a first come first serve basis.
First you play the hole and try to score par (which is marked on the
course map). The hole will end near a bar (also marked on the course
map), which you should stop in to have a drink (or just stop and rest
and let your teammates drink up).
When the next team comes in the door, your team finishes up your
drinks and sets off for the next hole. Your team captain is in charge
of making sure you move along when the next team comes by. Don't
worry too much about missing out on drinking time, the latter half of
the game is a bit slower and you'll have more time at the bars.
There will be some common sense rules, like be nice to the bartenders,
don't damage cars or pedestrians, and don't do anything that would get
the cops involved, etc.
Aside from that, you can do what you need to do to make the game fun.
Play off walls or garbage, switch or steal team players, skip around
on the map (if your team is too inebriated to find it) etc.
This is a costumed event, so make your Goodwill/Value Village runs
early. Expect argyle socks, plaid pants and smart sport coats to be
picked through early.
