Summer 2008 Urban Golf is July 19th!

Seattle's Forth Biannual Urban Golf Tournament/Bar Crawl is going down Saturday July 19th. All you need is a golf club, some fancy duds and a $3 ball fee to join. Bring your ball from a previous game and play for free!

This summer Urban Golf is heading back to our roots in the Capitol Hill district.

Tee off is at 2pm.

Meet at Cal Anderson Park on Capitol Hill.

Teams will be about 8-10 people. We'll hook you up and set your tee time on a first come first serve basis. Get together a full team, half team or come by yourself.

Just remember to bring a golf club (found cheap at Goodwill + we'll have a few loaners), your fanciest pants, the $3 fee plus some "cash" for drinks.

We'll provide course maps, rules and balls.

If you're planning on attending, please send a note to greensmaster@seattleurbangolf.com. It's not necessary, but it helps give us a more accurate ball count.

This is a 9 hole 9 bar course, so the age restriction is strictly 21 and over.

Who: Teams of 4. If you can’t come up with a team, let me know and I’ll assign you one. Each team will need one car. I’m aiming for 50 people; the venue can hold 75. The first 75 people to pay me (see below) get to participate.

What: Treasure Hunt party. Everyone will receive the first clue in Cal Anderson at 7 pm sharp. Your team will work to figure out the answer. The answer will be the location of the next clue. Your team will hop in their car and drive to find the next clue. The final clue will reveal the location of the party.

Where: The hunt begins in Cal Anderson Park, next to the fountain.

When: May 17th, 7 pm

Rules: Only one: No tampering with clues. Put them back as you found them. Other than that anything goes. I want to see double agents. I want to see triple agents. I want to see false directions, bribery and water balloon ambushes.

What is the $20 for? To cover the cost of venue, buy some prizes and maybe offset the cost of drinks.

What does the winning team get? Three huzzahs, their choice of top shelf liquor and the satisfaction of knowing they are more intelligent than their peers. And some other prizes that are even more awesome.

What will the losing team receive? Whatever half-consumed malt beverages they find in the bottom of the cooler, the smug expressions of all the teams that finished before them and mandatory participation in some horrific drinking game.

To purchase your $20 ticket either:
(1) www.paypal.com to pjscarf@hotmail.com -- if you don't have an account, figure it out or have a friend pay for you . Tell me who you are paying for and who is on your team.
- OR -
(2) Give me $20.
Remember you are not RSVP’d until I have your $20!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RSVP on Facebook or to the planner...

www.seattleurbangolf.com

Break out the galoshes and fancy umbrellas, looks like this will be the first ever "drizzly" Seattle Urban Golf Tournament.

Don't let a little rain keep you away. The bars are warm and toasty, and no further apart than a block or two. The game must go on!!

Meet us in the park at 13th Ave. S. at S. Albro Pl. We'll be hanging out under 2 blue canopies. There will be snackies and juices to help quell your hangover from the night before, and to fortify you for the adventure ahead.

Cheers,
Divide and Jacqueline

We're going to have a great time drinking and golfing away one of the last beautiful weekends of the year.

Only one more day to gather/thrift store shop those finishing touches for your golf ensemble. If you can dig up your ball from the last tournament then you play for free, otherwise, remember to bring the $3 ball fee.

We'll be teeing off from Cal Anderson Park (the fountain park off of Broadway) between 2 and 3pm. It's not necessary to play, but we'd appreciate if you'd RSVP to greensmaster@seattleurbangolf.com if you haven't already (helps us keep track of the ball count).

See you Saturday,

October 21st - Seattle's Second Urban Golf Tournament/Drinkathon! Rain or Shine!!

Saturday, October 21st
2pm tee off
Cal Anderson Park
Rain or Shine!!!

www.seattleurbangolf.com/index.html

What else are you going to do next Saturday afternoon? Come join us for a raucous game of golf in the parking lots, alleys and streets of Capitol Hill.

We'll be supplying special high-density foam golf balls to keep you drunkards from damaging cars, buildings, pedestrians and such. We'll also provide you a rule sheet, map and extra balls for the team captain.

If you still have your official urban golf ball from last game, bring it with and play for free!

All you need to bring is $3 (or your ball from last game), a golf club( hockey stick, shovel, baseball bat...), and you're best golf outfit ( www.seattleurbangolf.com/outfit.html ).

This is a costumed event, so make your Goodwill/Value Village runs early. Expect argyle socks, plaid pants and smart sport coats to be picked through early.

Teams are 8-10 people. We'll combine small groups into teams when you arrive, so don't worry if you don't have a full team.

Please RSVP to help us get an accurate ball count.

Cheers,
Divide and Jacqueline

For those who are unfamiliar with urban golf, here's a run down of the game play:

We set teams out about every 15 minutes on a first come first serve basis.

First you play the hole and try to score par. The hole will end near a bar (also marked on the course map), which you should stop in to have a drink (or just stop and rest and let your teammates drink up).

When the next team comes in the door, your team finishes up your drinks and sets off for the next hole. Your team captain is in charge of making sure you move along when the next team comes by. Don't worry too much about missing out on drinking time, the latter half of the game is a bit slower and you'll have more time at the bars.

There will be some common sense rules, like be nice to the bartenders, don't damage cars or pedestrians, and don't do anything that would get the cops involved, etc.

Aside from that, you can do what you need to do to make the game fun. Play off walls or garbage, switch or steal team players, skip around on the map (if your team is too inebriated to find the next hole) etc.

Heya:
My non-tribe friend just called to ask if I could remember anything about his final hours at the last bar. Charlie's, I think? I left him entrusted to others and more carbs. Anyway, his keys were last seen there. His name is Chris - short - punky. He remembers talking to a curvy, blonde girl in a blue shirt and sharing someone's hamburger. He seems to think the blonde girl had his keys.

Long shot but: did any keys turn up?
