Join us for a day of SPECTACULAR workshops, brought to you all the way from Sin City! Tabu and Danya (of Seraphina Fire) will be coming down for one day only, bringing you a day full of stories, robots, poi, zombies, and creative instruction that you will not believe!
The series of three (yes, count them, THREE) workshops will begin at 10:00am with Tabu showing us the ins and outs of their renowned "Robot Zombie Funk" workshop!
What is Robot Zombie Funk? it's Shaun of the Dead meets James Brown meets Mr. Roboto. TABU combines elements of urban pop and lock techniques with the spooky smooth transtitions of dark fusion. Learn hot combos and a short choreography to take a piece of TABU home with you... Pop and Lock your way to a funktified new day!
As if this wasn't cool enough, we bring you Danya, from Seraphina Fire! At 12:30, she will be mesmerizing us with her amazing abilities and instructing us in "Poi for Bellydancers!"
Bring a phenomenal nuance of grace, beauty, and POIse (ha-ha) to your dance as you learn this spectacular art from the hands of a master! Danya will endeavor to show how poi can be used as an extension to belly dance and will focus on finding your own dance style within poi movements. Prior poi knowledge is not necessary, basic technique will be covered as well as ways to incorporate these basics into your dance style.
Closing out the day will be Story Time with Tabu at 3:00.
Looking for a new dynamic way to keep your audience on the edge of their seats? Bring your message to the masses with this creative take on storytelling. Join TABU as they demonstrate how you can use music, movement, and emotion to tell a story. Whether you are an Egyptian Cabaret dancer, a Tribal Fusion dancer, or somewhere in between this workshop can help you explore your creative side and intrigue your audience. A short conversation about story construction, character creation, props, costumes, music, and understanding your audience will begin our journey. We will incorporate our stories into combinations and a short choreography.
Workshops will be available for only $35 each if you preregister by August 1st!!!!! If you wish to attend all three, the entire DAY of workshops will be discounted to only $90! That's six HOURS of concentrated learning! If you attend all three workshops, you will also gain FREE attendance o the "Lovin' Las Vegas Hafla" that will follow at 7:00 that evening, where Tabu, Danya, and several other amazing dancers will be entrancing us with their mad skillz!
