For a long time, I felt my osteoarthritis kept me giving massages. However, recently I have discovered if I sit or kneel often and take a healthy dose of anti-inflammatory medication I can give a good if not great sensual massage. My new credo is “adapt until you die.” How have you adapted so you can still do things you once thought was impossible?

Re: Over Coming Disability
Fri, February 23, 2007 - 10:42 PMI had a bunch of Rolfing sessions and they completely turned my life around. My left leg has several issues going on, from a weak anle that has been sprained several times, to a torn ACL in my knee, to occasional achiness in my hip. I have also experienced some lymphadema in my ankles when I was stuck at a desk job all day and I had to wear compression stockings. But the rolfing has made all of those problems and several others much much better and I think that if I keep getting rolfing on a regular basis, some of those problems might even go away. Rolfing and walking and not working a desk job all day have made my lymphadema go away. -

Re: Over Coming Disability
Sat, February 24, 2007 - 7:17 AMThat is wonderful. I have read about Rolfing but it is one form of body work I have never experienced. I will look and see if there is a practitioner in Bakersfield.
