I was downright floored when I found out how my daughter REALLY feels about having a young,hip, sexy mama...well, when I actually asked her enough times and got the same answer over and over to finally believe it, that is.....
But my daughter LOVES it! She LOVES that I am young and hip and sexy. She LOVES to show me off to her friends when I am dolled up for something.....even her male friends...and EVEN boyfriend(s)!!! Her friends have recently picked up the cute ol' term "MILF" in reference to me <sigh>....and low and behold....can you believe it? She actually doesn't mind it. It's not her favorite "pet" name for me, but she says (over and over and over and over and over, b/c I have asked THAT many times) that it really doesn't bother her. She would rather have a cool, pretty mom, than an old "hag" like most of her friends......

My daughter is much too young to care if Mama is sexy or not... she is only 17 months old... but I have 3 teenage step-daughters who all the time tell me how pretty I am, and since I had my daughter I've lost weight and can share clothes with 2 of them! So, they really like that because I dress young and hip (except when working)- now they can borrow my clothes.... I think it's especially cool when people think I'm their sister! Yeah, I eat that up... I guess I've been lucky to not get wrinkles or anything...
Last year I was getting ready to play a big concert in my hometown, (I'm a singer) and my fan club president put up flyers at my old high school- where my niece goes... she told me her boyfriend walked by the flyer, didn't know I was her aunt, and said, "Damn, I'd tap that!.... she was annoyed to say the least but then she told me she thought it was cool that kids her age thought I was pretty, So, that made me feel great.
By the way, I'm liking this tribe... very good idea for an ego boost when you're feeling old, crappy, poor, and downright depressed :)

Tue, March 14, 2006 - 4:03 PMOMG! Yes!!! I know exactly what you mean. My daughter and I wear the same size as well (except her boobs are bigger than mine...poo!) We have completely different styles and different body types, but we wear the same size (except shoes, thank gawd....not ready for her to wear the things that I wear on my feet!). I also think that part of the reason she is so happy about how sexy I am is that SHE is gorgeous, and she knows it. If she had a low self-image, then it would be different. What's great is that since we have different styles, in some ways, we will wear the same clothes, but in slightly different,, unique ways. It's also nice b/c she LOVES to do make up and hair and she is REALLY good at it....so we'll have nights where we just sit around and dress each other and do each other's make-up and hair....it's an great mother-daughter bonding thing at an age where she thinks we have NOTHING in common (b/c she WANTS to think that)!!
