In their FIRST EVER Bay Area gig LA's Naked Rhythms is hosted by The Groove Garden for an amazing evening of tru-world-groove featuring tons of live percussion, guitar, (guest vocals: Brotha' Los - Company of Prophets), woodwinds, sax, bansuri flute, ney, and guest dancer, Syaka (bellydance, martial arts dance, sword & samba dance)!

Naked Rhythms was born in Los Angeles in 2003 as a collaborative effort between Avi Sills and Alex Spurkel with a vision of breaking down borders and bringing the world together with cross-cultural music and dance. By seamlessly fusing exotic world music and percussion with contemporary electronic dance grooves, Naked Rhythm captivates Western audiences with the universal language of rhythm and sounds of the Middle-East, India, Africa, and South America.

The result is an innovative and organic form of World electronica that moves the heart as well as the hips. So I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who showed up at the last Groove Garden to support all the great entertainment and fun vibes that was goin on.... we had lots of fun stilting with you all...

But tonight we get DJ Dragonfly up here in Sebastopol. He will be tearing up the Brew Pub with his latest and fattest imports.

Ill be heading down to the Pub tonight after a fire spin at the foundry... anyone down to join me? Dragonfly is going on around 11pm.

I will be having a yard-warming party at my new home in June (after Harmony is over) and I'm counting on a Synergy presence as part of the entertainment... Ideally, I want to coordinate a 10-15 minute spin, (i.e. with the line-up and music planned out, as we did on Halloween). Since it's only March, there's plenty of time, but I wanted to plant that seed...

Poi Spinning Class Starting tonight!!!

This class series will guide students through the fundamental elements of poi movement. We wil focus on technique and the basic understanding of how to manipulate the poi effectively to create the basic poi movements.

Last session was so much fun and I am hoping to see alot of you all again to continue the series and your practice. Since this session is 5 classes where the previous was 3, we will be getting into some more intermediate moves towards the end of the series. Feel free to sign up for the whole session or drop in for the last few classes. If anyone wants to know what moves will be taught in what class just send me a tribe and i will let you know.

Fireplay and everyplay for Chater School benefit!...

Hey guys,

I got a phone call from someone in Sonoma trying to schedule some kind of street performers (ideally fire!) to reel people in from the outside for their benefit... I would do it alone, but ideally it'd be awesome to get a few dancers, spinners, drummers, stilters, musicians of sorts, hoopers... and we can have a really good time helpin them out.

Basically what we do is dance..... play.... dress-up... entertain and bring people in. The date is Saturday, March 10th from 5-7p, so she's giving me time.... and I'd love to gather with some people to maybe coreograph somethin. Open to ideas as well.... with over a month we have some time to rally some people up.. if it's dry next Tuesday, I'm at the jam. Hope to hear from you guys! And a great cause.... blessings, be well!

Some of us were needing clarity as to our group structure. I created this tribe to help with that explanation. We are such a talented lot of people with a myriad of experiences. Lets continue to showcase our talents and help each other expand to new levels.
