Here's the deets on the retreat - AND, it happens immediately after Oregon County Fair which I've always heard is a blast (cross between Rainbow Gathering and Burning Man). I'd actually like to do both - party then sit! Have a good car but would like company . . .

July 16-20, 20-22, or 16-22, 2007
The Radical Path of Awakening
Non-silent meditation workshop
With Noah Levine & Vinny Ferraro

Breitenbush Hotsprings, Oregon

The Buddha referred to his Awakening as having been “Against the Stream”. The spiritual path is one of revolutionary acts of non-violent rebellion against greed, hatred and delusion. In this meditation workshop, Noah and Vinny will speak about both positive and negative forms of subversion of the dominant paradigm and elucidate the Buddhist path of wisdom and compassion that lead to Freedom.

This weeklong workshop is a great introduction to Buddhist practices or a perfect way to integrate the practice you are already committed to. Our schedule allows for relaxation, enjoying the hot springs, community building and social interaction. Register early as it may fill up.

NOAH LEVINE is a Buddhist teacher, author and counselor. He was trained to teach by Jack Kornfield, and leads meditation classes, workshops and retreats all over the U.S. He also leads groups in juvenile halls and prisons. Noah holds a masters degree in counseling psychology from CIIS. He has studied with many prominent teachers in both the Theravada and Mahayana Buddhist traditions. He is the author of 'Dharma Punx; A Memoir' and 'Against the Stream: A Buddhist Manual for Spiritual Revolutionaries'. He lives in Los Angeles. For more information and his teaching schedule, visit www.dharmapunx.com.

VINNY FERRARO has been practicing meditation since 1993. In 1998, he spent a year sitting bedside with the dying through the Zen Center Hospice Program in San Francisco, as well as experiencing "A Year to Live" practice (based on the book by Stephen Levine). He has studied with several renowned spiritual teachers including the Dalai Lama. In 2001, Vinny trained to lead Challenge Days in schools throughout the U.S. and has become an integral member of that organization. He is currently part of the Community Dharma Leader program at Spirit Rock and teaches a weekly insight meditation group in San Francisco on Friday nights.
