what a shame. this is such a fantastic little after work bar. friendly diverse crowd. strong topshelf pours. and bartenders mason and john are adorable. it's a crime that the financial district will soon no longer have even one gay bar left. especially for this town. enjoy the atmosphere while you can. Ginger's last days are Feb. 1st or 2nd.

oh wow. so not even until the end of the month? [sigh] i'm glad i was able to squeeze in a few more happy hours there this past month. but yeah, where next? there must be a hole in the wall or two down there that we could colonize with an afterwork pink crowd. i'll do some brainstorming/window shopping to see what might be fun.

oh good for Mason. do you mean Encore Karaoke Lounge btw?

i've never been but heard it's a fun (and mixed crowd) unpretentious place. too bad it's potentially just a tad off the beaten Financial District path for some.

and would they really start belting out the tunes as early as happy hour? the tone-deaf Celine Dion/Shania Twain renditions have the potential to interfere with my after-work unwinding/gettin' my drink on. tho it would give me an excuse to drink even more... ;-)

was invited to encore last wednesday night by bill to welcome mason....place had around six folks...the owner was a total turnoff...arrogant and seemed to know it all....poor mason will not last there....the scene is so different....once the karaoke started it was too loud we left.....
