I"m curious right now about the fusion elements of tribal fusion bellydance. What makes it fusion? How far can we stray from the true tribal foundation of movements, and still--in our heart of hearts-- call is "bellydance"? And what makes it TRIBAL?? simply the costume we wear? The music we use? Or the rich foundation and study and evolution that comes out of the dance movements and foundational techniques?
If we have a solid movement vocab. in Tribal and Tribal Fusion bellydance, but wear a clownsuit on stage, is that Tribal Fusion?
vs.
what if we have little to none technical tribal movement vocab, but don a rocking 'tribal' outfit on stage... does that, in and of itself, make a 'legitimate' tribal fusion bellydancer?
Thoughts, anyone?
And where is your creative process going? What is inspiring you lately?
I'm finding, this fall, i moving towards a softer aesthetic... dare i say 'dainty!?" (see photo posted)
