Special date for Immersion?

I was wondering if the date for Immersion was picked intentionally? August 8, 2008 (8/8/08) is a very special/lucky date in some Asian cultures. I just realized this, then I was thinking Raven may have done this with that in mind. Just curious!

    oooooh i like that!!

    nope. it was actually picked around zoe's schedule. : ):) :)
    and when most people would be available.
    And sadly mizzz RB is in asia that weekend.
    But can't get 'em all at the same time--gotta leave room for next year, i suppose.

    Any ideas of what we can do to celebrate and honor that day?
    Pls. tell us more about the auspiciousness of 8/8/08.
    i'd love to know!
    we'll have to figure out how to incorporate that
