Additionally, my tango piece is coming along well. Actually I'll be performing it at Tribal LA at the end of Sept. So I've given myself a deadline to complete some of these ideas. Although my life is changing in huge ways right now that could be potentially distracting from creating a new piece, I'm finding my energy funneling into this project as a great way to process stuff. Haven't gotten to the costume construction phase yet (as I have admitted that is my weak spot), but I'm sure I'll be back on here with questions when that time comes.
Oo, we could even post videos of our pieces in process for feedback if everyone would like. Nice to have a professional and creative bunch to bounce ideas off of. -

We could post on You Tube (for a Limited amount of time) and have people give feedback, support, critique, etc...
I'm involved in a performance project coming up around the archetype of the 'seductress'.. Hmm.. anyone have any ideas.. without it going too sexual, but more alluding to that archetype with colors, textures, music, etc/? -

Rose I am totally going to try some of your exercises -- I am just now myself starting to really try & listen to my own dance "voice" and this is just what I need. Thank you.
Deb, about your archetype . . . fwiw one of the most interesting observations I've ever heard about seduction is that it's a pulling, not a pushing. Maybe that's something you can use in choosing your music or creating your movement? -

We actually had the show lose funding. :-( BUT we're still planning on doing sometime in the next couple months so it was for not a waste of effort. The gentleman who puts on the cabaret is hoping to get something geared up for the November election. Thanks for asking though Aubre. :-) -

Wed, September 3, 2008 - 10:54 PMUnfortunately, it's not. I am preparing for Desert Dance Festival in Santa Clarar on the 13th & 14th. I am making cowrie falls, post-apocalyptic t's, hair sticks and I am reducing the prices of all my skirts to wholesale prices. Needless to say, I am exhausted. Not to mention directing the troupe, they are performing on the 13th.
Eeek, and I am typing this response, how? LOL

Fri, October 17, 2008 - 5:27 PMOK don't judge to harshly... but here is the product. My camera was on the wrong setting the entire time... so it's fuzzy and the sound is distorted. (I'm really talking myself up here, huh? LOL) I wish the sound was better.... make sure you turn your volume DOWN :-(
