The land being used for this event is used for ceremonial purposes, so please respect it as if it were your own. As with all of our events it is LEAVE NO TRACE. Leave no trace meaning if you brought it in with you through the gate then you need to bring it back out with you. Bring all the supplies that you will need to get through the evening and into the next afternoon. This includes blankets to lay on under the stars, chairs, tent, bug spray, food & water. Showers are on site and are very well kept and semi private. The music on the main stage should go through till about 10AM. The site needs to be cleared by 2PM on sunday.
This event will be a rain or shine event. The land has plenty of trees and nooks to get into for camping. I suggest arriving as early as possible to have sunlight for setting up camp and finding both of the stages. Stay in the camping and stage areas since you are out in the wild, and bite anything that bites you first!!
Leave your bad vibes and drama outside the gate and set your affirmations to have a wonderful evening with us.
I would also like to add that this event is also a celebration of my wife Jessica's 31st birthday, my sons 14th, and my brother's 22nd birthday. I love you Jessica,Nathan and Dustin. Cheers to all the lions in my life!!

Re: Atrium Obscurum pres.."The Lions Roar" W/FaceHead 07/26/08
Mon, June 23, 2008 - 6:49 PMAs it stands at this point RAID5 might not be providing what we had hoped, and quite possibly might not be providing sound at all. It isn't an issue to do with their capabilities, but an issue of cost. It isn't cost effective given the proximity of the event to Dallas. For instance it would cost $600 just to get the sound from Dallas to Austin, yikes!!!! The cost is 3 times the amount that we are used to paying them when we have used them. If our scene was bigger and we had a really good feel for what we could expect for a head count then it might be a different story. If we were to do what we had envisioned it would be more than 50% of the party's budget which we just can't do. Taking a loss is guaranteed, but that much of a loss can't be sustained and expect to have more events to look forward to in the future. This goes back to how it is incredibly important that all people involved in this scene make a concerted effort to focus on the influx of new blood. This should be everyone's responsibility, not just the promoters. If we can grow our scene by another 50 people and have a consistent turnout of 200 people then it opens up what the three crews in Texas can do individually and together. I would like to go on record of apologizing right now if I don't end up living up to what I had written. -

Re: Atrium Obscurum pres.."The Lions Roar" W/FaceHead 07/26/08
Tue, June 24, 2008 - 12:25 PMYes I agree. I think everyone who is planning on coming should make it a point to find 1 new person to bring out. I'm not saying go flyer downtown, but actually personally invite and bring a new face. Explain the culture and ettiquette (leave no trace, bring what you need!) to them and give them a proper introduction in to our family. Yes we are all one family, and keep that in mind when finding respectful individuals to initiate.
This is important to do not only for the sake of continuing the growth of our community, but because there are many, many people out there that are searching for something just like what we are doing. They know in their hearts that there is more to life than the loop they are currently stuck in, and are probably seeking despratly to find people like us to show them how much more there is. I know myself as well as many other's who's lives have been changed in unimaginable ways since first being introduced to psychedelic trance music. I believe that this music has a kind of magnetic attraction that serves to bring us like minded individuals together in a forum that emphasizes the creation of art and the exchange and organization of ideas that serve to progress humanity as a whole. However, this doesn't happen on it's own, and it's up to us to spread the word.
Do your part to create positive change, introduce new people to what we are doing! -

Re: Atrium Obscurum pres.."The Lions Roar" W/FaceHead 07/26/08
Tue, June 24, 2008 - 4:24 PMI totally agree with this too. When you are telling people about this you should highlight the points that their will be two sound stages with a contrast of musical offerings. There will be trance and chill out music with a wide variety of flavors within those two broad categories, all having the ability to take you on an amazing journey. They can get far enough away from the music where they can have a nice conversation around a campfire without yelling or they can spend the whole night getting their stomp on and zoning out to the music. In other words, it's not a RAVE and they can choose their level of immersion instead of being bombarded by the environment the moment they enter the party. Invite respectful people and try not to just think of who will be "perfect" for it. If they have respect for nature and people and an open mind for music and the big picture then you should mention it to them. And always remember how important it is to be welcoming and to model the culture of what our scene ought to be. An event with just 50 folks can generate a great vibe but I think we all know how awesome it can be to have 200+ folks enjoying the party with a collective sense of unity and amazement. That's a feeling so palpable you can just reach out and get some.

Re: Atrium Obscurum pres.."The Lions Roar" W/FaceHead 07/26/08
Tue, June 24, 2008 - 2:13 PMHave you talked to Kent about sound resources?
-
Re: Atrium Obscurum pres.."The Lions Roar" W/FaceHead 07/26/08
Tue, June 24, 2008 - 8:47 PMI totally understand that. I think that's something that all psytrance party promoters have to deal with. If I were you guys throwing the party near Austin, I would use Austin sound, but that's my opinion. I am also of the opinion that maybe since everyone seems to attend each other's party's, that we should all just combine forces and make them bigger with 2 or 3 stages...one for the dark music, one for full on, and one for chill...am I dreaming??? oh and they would be three days too! If we pooled resources, it could be done. -

Re: Atrium Obscurum pres.."The Lions Roar" W/FaceHead 07/26/08
Tue, June 24, 2008 - 11:51 PMWhat budget do you have?
I might be able to have my guy, Shad bring out something that would be sufficient... I am just not sure I want the line array to go out without me present.
We could maybe do all 4 subs that were at SJ, but with different tops...either my EAW LA325's, or a new (to me) rig of PAS RS-1.2's... Most likely the EAW's, as the processing has already been setup for those.
Sorry to her about the issues with transportation.

Wed, June 25, 2008 - 7:32 PMWow......I love to see everyone offering up suggestions and doing what you can to help make things happen.....I love it and this is exactly the spirit that I was talking about. A big hug, kiss, and thanks to everyone for the suggestions:) It's reasons like this that I am happy to be a part of this scene/community and can do my part to help its continuation and growth. I can tell you all right now it means a lot to us DFWers to have this warmth from the Austin community. This is our first time putting together an excursion in your neck of the woods, and honestly it feels like home so to speak. I really look forward to seeing this experience coming to fruition and riding the "high" afterwards. -

Re: Atrium Obscurum pres.."The Lions Roar" W/FaceHead 07/26/08
Mon, June 30, 2008 - 6:56 PMSince we will have two stages we will have two altars.
I would like to put it out there for anyone and everyone to add something to the altars to bring your positive energy to the event. At Gaian Mind they promoted for everyone to bring a candle out to the event to bring to the altar space. At Gemini Fest. the altar they had there was huge because many people bought into the spirit and energy that is there to be celebrated and created. These events are truly what you make of them....we provide the space and the environment, you bring the energy and the vibe, and we can all come together in celebration. So, set your intention and bring something to the altar(s) that has your positive energy in it.

I sent about 700 to Erin Lee and still have about 300 so maybe I will bring some more down to Austin this weekend. Brian,Keith,Nick, and Mellow will be driving down there on Saturday..
Everyone have a HAPPY July4th!! -

Re: Atrium Obscurum pres.."The Lions Roar" W/FaceHead 07/26/08
Mon, July 7, 2008 - 1:09 PM"On July 22 we receive a burst of fiery energy as the sun enters Leo. July 26 is the most energetic day in these last few weeks of the month, when Mars in Virgo favorably aligns with Jupiter. Any activity requiring a lot of physical energy should go more smoothly at this time.
On July 27-29, Venus in Leo aligns with the South Node of the moon. This cycle can bring back partners from the past or karmic relationship lessons that still need completion. Issues with power and control may surface at this time. The South Node energy can pull us back from our path of greater growth (North Node), so there may be a need for release, forgiveness of self and others, and reorientation away from any obsession with past events.
