...and now it's your turn.

I have completed a new track that is one of my most ambitious projects . Its more of a Full-on Psy-techno track with elements of morning. I'm not quite there yet but I am enjoying the process a whole hell of a lot! I want to see what my fellow southern US Psytrancers think of it so, I'm making it available to you here.

I welcome all opinions so please respond within this thread or PM me.

Thank you for your support,
Sean (Aeon) aka. Staggernaut

  • Overall, I think it's pretty good so far. It definitely pulled me in., especially when it gets into that mesmerizing tech drive around 3:25. A nice balance of minimal with the full on sounds.
    • Thank you for the feedback Melvin. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
This is one of the funnest tracks I've made so far, that Tech piece was a mistake I made when I inadvertently duplicated my leads then after cropping them a bit I was like...hay, that's kinda cool. I swear the coolest sounds you just stumble on sometimes.
      Cheers Brothah,

      • I just listened to it. it has so many different feels to it. It's nice . Good job Mr Aeon :)
        • Thank you so much Jessica. I'm glad you liked it. My A.D.D. doesn't allow me to be very consistent during creative endeavors. I just get bored as hell way too easily and have to change it up. By the way the sample is Daniel Pinchbeck speaking at Burning Man in 2003. I heard him speak at Coalescence while I waited on a port-o-john. He was talking about crop circles in this strange slow rhythm that just kinda made my head spin.
Thank you again for the feedback.
          With Regards,
          Sean
          • Nice work-the techy element is really what does it for me.

Only suggestion I can think of is maybe try and make the ping pongy stuff a bit more upfront, but not too much, and maybe add a tad bit more punch to bass and kicks? Though really this is an awesome track.
            • Ahhhh Seph,
So glad to hear from you and I appreciate the suggestions unbelievably. The Ping Pongs were defiantly something I wanted to focus on more in the mix but I wasn't getting the effect I wanted from the plug-in so I just duplicated the initial stab at eighth / quarter note intervals added a 3 db. roll-off with a hard pan left / right to create a pretty consistent delay. What I didn't do was apply the method to all the ping pongs in the track thus the somewhat subdued effect here and there. I wondered If it was enough to notice and am glad you pointed it out, Ill have to correct it in the mix down.. As for the Kick Bass scenario, this is my nemesis...Fine tuning a bass line and kick drum is a daunting task. I have yet to be 100% satisfied with my low end. It gets better as I progress but I'm far from where I want to be.
I glad you took the time to download and enjoy it, which really means allot to me. I am humbled by all the responses on this thread, and am eternally grateful to all of you!
              Regards,
              Sean
