I have dancers with beautiful bodies wanting liposuction, breast implants, surgey etc - I told them if they got implants they would be out of my troupe ;)
So..got me thinking...
I think many women spend too much time obsessing about their bodies, and wishing to change things about ourselves . I think it's silly to feel that way especially if you're into Belly Dance -Ballet maybe, Bellydance, nah. I think it is a dance form that appeals to many body types.
Do men obsess about their bodies and compare what they have with other men? I wonder.
Anyhoo, so I think it's time to appreciate what we have and feel blessed to have the things that make us unique.
I'll go first:
I like my strong shoulders and wings.
I like my flat tummy and lil bootie
my thighs...
Oh, and the boobs I prayed for when I was 11 and my small feet.

Wed, August 15, 2007 - 3:11 PMi find this topic very interesting especially having been in brazil for the past 7 months where everyone gets lipo or implants (and not just boobs...the deal here is getting fat removed from the small of your back to make you appear more boot-licious)...most of the girls that dance professionally have had some work or other done...there's no question about that...they don't think twice about the whole deal...i used to be adamantly against it but then i talked to a friend who's had work done and she's happier...her whole take on it is do what makes you happy with your body...honestly, i feel happier with my body when i know that it's me that's done the work...all the long hours and sweat and grunts at the gym make me happy...because i did it and i know that i can maintain it and well, it's a hell of a lot cheaper too...
so i join you on the happy body parts...
love my booty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and my boobies...
and my stomach may not be as flat as it can be but i love my curves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the hell with anyone who says otherwise...

Wed, August 15, 2007 - 7:17 PMMy Sister-In-Law just had a tummy tuck and she was laid up for over two weeks. She'd do it again if she had the chance. I say stop being so lazy and work on your body. Exercise can do wonders.
I like my arms, shoulders, neck.
I need to work on my but, hips, boobs and thighs. I'm lazy, but not THAT lazy.

So thats the famous brazilian bootie surgery ...I've always heard about this butt surgery thing that is popular in Brazil, now I know ;) Lucky Z you don't need any of it -bootylicious!
It's so funny because the thing that I find beautiful in womens bodies and faces is what they generally wish they could change.

Thu, August 16, 2007 - 1:33 AMI love my boobs. Which is really funny because they are truly very small, but when I go bra-less and unsquished for exercise, they are still perky.
Lipo is just plain dumb unless you are an excellent candidate i.e., great bouncy skin, otherwise you just get that deflated balloon thing going on.
I should say that I would definitely get cosmetic surgery for a whole lot of thing if I felt the desire, think it's perfectly good to get some desired stuff the easy way. Just hate the cosmetic surgery clone look. -

Thu, August 16, 2007 - 12:59 PMI wish I had small boobs so I could go bra-less. I have been "busty" all my life (it seems). I've stopped growing but I could swear that my girls were getting bigger as I went from 25 - 35 in age. I sucks when your trying to do a shoulder shimmy and the girls come along for the ride - it turns into a bust shimmy.
