Thanks to each and every one of you for making this year's Queen another success & Sold Out Show. Dancers, judges, performers, volunteers - Thank You! We couldn't have done this without you.
All the competitors brought their A game, and level of talent this year was AMAZING:
Nitara -gorgeous veil, Katarina -very lovely, Summer-super hips, Adriana-super grace, Cera-fluid fierce, Mina- super stage presence, Dalila-amazing sword and Jamilla -personality plus!
This year's crown went to Summer - A lovely dancer who made a beautiful gesture by donating her prize money to the Lupus foundation.
Performers -Nanna, Ariellah, Frederique, Mandanah, Ooh La La's, Etana, Zahara, Terry, Lunatique thank you for sharing your talents.
Workshop participants -Thank you all for coming and making the workshops a success!
As for me, I will be taking 2 weeks off to rest and will be away from the computer & Tribe for a week. Please share any questions, ideas, announcements here to keep it alive - I'll be back on Sunday ;)

It was a really great event-great workshops, a fantastic competition-the best part was the improvised drum solo dance-off, and a wonderful show with such incredible dancing and talent!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU so much!!!! I'm sure the packed house was shown a really wonderful time.

As always you just know how to put an event together like nobody's buzness *fabulous*. And really I think you Hubs aka, Bullwinkle, deserves a special thanks - humour and warmth to spare.

Mon, July 23, 2007 - 9:44 AMI have to say thank you to you Shab, it's always wonderful to come out and support your group and I cannot tell you how much I love the fact that this event is so kick-back and down to earth. The group of people/dancers/supporters that come out to this event is far different from some of the other's I've been to that it makes it easy to have fun at.
So thank you so much for putting it on and giving us a place to just "shake it"

What a successful event! One of my most favorite moments was waiting backstage with Cera and Mina for the announcement of the winners; the three of us were holding each other's hands, and I remember squeezing the heck out of Mina's and Cera's hands! It was an anxious moment! I hope their hands are ok! I was SO nervous!
I think I asked this of you and Mandanah, but I can't remember if there was an answer :-) Is there any way to get my hot little hands on a copy of the show? Even if it's just our own performances (but getting the whole show would rock!)....I've been desparately trying to get footage of me dancing for my website and this would be awesome to have. Plus, I didn't get to see Cera's drum solo, and she told me she rev'd a motorcycle in it as part of her dance! LOL! That girl kills me!

Thank you for organizing the Queen of the Bay Competition. I had a great time, and am really glad I entered. I have "almost" entered other competitions, but always chickened out. I am glad I finally went through with one, had fun, and actually survived! Maybe I will actually enter others after this.
Congratulations to the winners; the drum solo looked like a hard one!
Also, as some other people also asked, I would be interested if any videos will be available.
