Carport repair?

Due to user error, I got some separation along the seams on my costco carport. It's the tan, plastic coated version, with the velcro cuff style attachments. This is where we got damage. On a couple of the side panels, the velcro cuffs were torn off in the heavy winds. My plan is try and seal the seams, and reinforce them, then pop in new grommets, and use bungee attachements in lieu of the velcro cuffs. Any suggestions on what kind of glue/plastic weld to use? what about reinforcing material? Thanks!

    Goop : www.biosafe-inc.com/ag_adhesives.htm

with heavy duty tarp material ?

not sure if i would put the grommets in the same spot as the repairs tho.
maybe use a couple layers of gorilla tape where you want the grommets for extra reinforcement.

Absolutely. That technique works great. One square of duct/gorilla tape on one side, and one square on the other side. Then set your grommet. This will give the grommet something more substantial to bite into, and the reinforcement offered by the tape will keep the grommet from ripping out in future winds.
