Shadowdance 2008 A Personal Overview By Vorona

I must say that more than any other event I've been to, Shadowdance made me feel not only completely humbled and addicted by what my eyes were witnessing on the stage, but like a family member behind the scenes. I have met some of the most loved individuals and talented folks in the beautiful darkness that thrives here. I was left with a longing, delightful, and disturbed repeating of some of the acts I had watched with a child-like wonder. It moved and catalyzed me in an inexplicable way that will left me restless for days after...
The chosen themes by all were captivating and the costumes were incredibly individual to those who spoke from their flesh.
I never remember a time when I was so moved, watching those who I hold dear to my heart transform to tell a story and tell it well.
A couple times I cried and the heartstrings in my chest were pulled in furious and distorted directions.
This in it and of itself was pure inspiration to me as I can imagine what was provoked in the minds of its mundane audience.

I've never felt so blessed to share the stage with such a masterpiece as 'Shadowdance' and all of those who breathed into it- its life breath.
Who was I to deserve such an opportunity? But to deserve a time in my life that constructs such powerful memories...

With all the deep love I can muster from within myself, I thank and kiss the feet of those who were part of it all!
I can't stay away from you for too long for distance makes the heart grow fonder!!

Here is a small, yet personal list of those I thank for I'd be nothing without this week:

Nisha- You were my sweetest friend throughout the week knowing me inside and out. Thank you for being beautiful and self-less...
Sina- Thank you for your beauty and your incredible ideas. My synopsis would be nothing without you.
Bruce- For your support, patience, and your home. I could lay my heart to rest...
Freyja- For your heart, dedication, and criticism... I love and thank you...
Marissa- Your voice was a timeless inspiration... thank you for tearing me apart inside.
Amar- For opening doors of limitless opportunity for me and being a very loving friend.
Christina (Black Lotus)- You make looking at yourself in the mirror, magic. You ARE magic, my dear.
Super Kate- For helping me get *in touch* with myself
and....

Ariellah- She the evening star and catalyst within me that transforms my visions so that I may see the world from a stage
with the universe in my minds eye...

We couldn't have found a more appropriate venue to complement the vibe of this special night.

As if we didn't have amazing lineups from the start, we have another uniquely dark experience for you this year with even more dark faces from across the country landing on our doorsteps on the fourteenth day in November of two thousand eight.

We will have 2 seatings, both being different. and each being equally spectacular.
if you book your V.E.P. pass, you'll see 2 different seated theater shows and stay for the late night Cirque Noir which will feature DJs, vendors, outdoor fire performances, Ariellah's MIDNIGHT GALLERY & ELECTRIC VARDO's Sideshows with Surprises.

We will have weekend workshops with
SHARON KIHARA, SAMANTHA RIGGS and VORONA

There are several ticketing options. Ticketing fees are included in price.
Note that any tickets ordered for the theater seatings include entry for the night.
You do Not need to buy a separate Cirque Noir ticket if you are purchasing seats for the theater perfomances. As a bonus, the V.E.P. pass gets you seats for both theater performances at 7 and 9, Cirque Noir entrance with preferred seating in the 5th row and a Mix CD made especially for Shadowdance by DJ Amar. Mix CDs are also available by separate purchase at the show or ordered here online.
