....an age old shadowjam between the earth, moon and sun.
......a poetic rendition of a starry performance where
the clouds and wind play an integral part,
obliterating and obscuring the view.
masking the light eye.
brown moon held nestled
orbit of reflection, timeless beacon.
We observe for hours,
stationed on our rock,
held strong by the playa,
mesmerized by the rippling languages held out to us by the oncoming tide.
The sounds of log barges passing with their flares alit mid-way and at each end,
(they briefly obscure the view of distant cities)
The lighthouse from a distant Island cycles through and through,
(as a guidepost for vessels)
The streetlights are also constant, and the streaming headlights of cars remind us that the highway is also being eclipsed.
(this rush hour occurs daily)
The babbling trickle of the freshwater dribble
tickles my ears
shivering is a part of it.....
so is chanting,
and being startled by that growling beast in the bushes,
and noticing that bird carcass torn apart feathery a few logs down,
and our crunching bag of popcorn.
and the morning brisk swim.
celestial bodies,
surface caressing,
over and over and over
....an extended moment.

an eclipse is.........recently......
Thu, February 21, 2008 - 2:36 AM....within this
again and again
(as usual)
~~~
Strolling experiences in Sechelt
from Snickett rock along Pebbles beach:::
outside sights in this village
glinting things are all around
event anticipation melts sweet prolonged
as a treat,
cocoa eclipses my palate
(eating alot of chocolate these days)
our bikes slow stance off the path
still familiar surroundings
in a moment’s seeing
the sinking sun
brings blues dark indigo to crisp black edges everywhere
look!
the clouds are fish
swimming over
earthen silhouette
passing over
mud moon palette
blending shadows
to brown hue
Bright Conveyor belt beneath
...brrrrrr...
I swing my arms and legs all around to stay warm
Dance Jump Yelp Chatter
mittens, windbreak
flashing red reflectors
lollygag, lost in
digital distractions
momentarily
stop!
stare
Swift Sauntering ride
Zig zag home
Wearing my helmet the whole time
~~~
Light happenings are continually eclipsing our “fixed” points of reference
.
.
obscuring distant surfaces
(goes without saying that this is an everyday thing)
covered by…
exposed by…
~~~
Home with tea,
my mind now seeing the inside of this house’s walls as a stark sky
for many handheld objects to become animated
within their own still lives of ever rotating constellations
my writing here being eclipsed by your reading this now
and again by me hanging up sheets in the other room
obliterating the screen
oh,
there are so many surfaces!
Thu, February 21, 2008 - 11:43 AMoh delightful!
.....I was flying around with the moon lastnight, I guess you saw me!
have you heard of "eclipsed plumage"?
some birds get this regularly....it's natural!
Recently, I seem to have misplaced my body.
My head has eclipsed my bones! -
Thu, February 21, 2008 - 12:14 PMmagic fish,
my favorite part was when you expelled the partially digested moon from your mouth
and it became your eye
