first stop....Seattle
Fri, July 25, 2008 - 2:36 AMYes it's true....we are on tour right now!
We have a lovely blue car, and are accompanied by our two lovely friends Becky and Marcus......we have with us many instruments, the OHP, a suitcase of puppets and are off!
Success!
We crossed the border earlier today and just came to rest our heads back from our first shadowjam @ the Live Girls Theatre in Ballard. www.livegirlstheater.org/
We watched an amazingly poignant political satirical collaborative piece that included shadows, acting, movement and singing performances called "The Lady Liberty Blues" which featured shadows by our new friend Nicholas Hubbard! (aka dark materials). He hooked us up with a gig shadowjamming in the space after their performance. Some highlights include the underwater hip hop orgy, the drunk rat playing guitar in the sky bar, the alien and seaweed family have dinner together, the one man circus, think about it!, two lost bunnies searching for their parents, we are all stars!.....twinkle twinkle....
We are here in Seattle for at least another day and night, and then will be offwards and onwards!!!
See you soon!? -

...post Portland patterings...
Fri, August 1, 2008 - 11:33 AMpah pah pah....
Portland began with Mmmm lulu's chocolate and writing heartfelt letters to a warming earth....butoh performances and live music, sculptures, lounging in the park......setting sun in the rose garden with an epic, gothic style community performance of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" (my mouth hanging agape after the show).
waterinthedesertfestival.org/
Fire and song and silly and serious......chasing eachother longing with flowers in hand.
Lovers are silly....scented, inventive, delusional.
We were welcomed into Kyrstyn's household guarded by many strong cats all with their story, and a spirited bird that is flying still. Many shades of green.
Shakedown in the backyard!
Heavy laden....venturing into the chasm.
Many stringed jamming goodness and feasting delicious plums and black and blueberries and fresh stevia and catmint and buzzing bees on lavender entrance with lions.
Busking experiments, dumpster diving, bicycle rides, picnics under large trees.
There are trees everywhere in Portland!
Shadowjam at the "Pink House": A Unicorn's journey. Red lipped woman....you hoooo! Green eyed boy....searching.
Mt. Tabor excursions and nighttime view with the Uni-Cyclops lonely song.
Tumbling crumbling bike fall! Resilience!
Dents de Lion
Queen Anne's Lace nestled in safe sleep
We just left a free off the grid festival full of climate change activists on a large farm just outside of Eugene.
www.climateconvergence.org/west/
Campfire singalongs, solar powered oven plan, wildcrafted edibles tour, strange acceptance of current extinction underway. Just accepting it and making survival plans from there...
Eat your shadow!
Just Dune it!
Onwards from here we are doing some camping down the coast of Oregon into California.....

the ancient forest floor is...
Fri, August 8, 2008 - 2:14 AMoh,
these giant redwoods and sequoias
swaying girth, spanning time
pockets of brief sunlight streaming down,
momentary illuminating mine
tame elk, huge rack
dusty sorrel, tasty snack
swimming in rivers
with the current, against the current
held poised with placed feet
refreshing
basking
resting on the beach
There are glowing eyes in the night
There are creatures all around
renegade tents illuminated from within
lantern domes make muffled sounds
~
flickering embers in our campfire
little lapping and licking flames
jamming survival in the newborn coal
this fire is never tame
