here here, random adventure ramble...
Mon, August 25, 2008 - 3:12 PMLastnight we performed in Muddy's hot cup, and then jammed through the night in the "Storm Ship"...ooooooOOOOOoooooo
I have never played a drumset that was so wonderous!
Coils of wire hanging from the ceiling suspending large plastic bins,
as many metallic janglers and twingers as you can ding!
...and today we are going to a place named the Fab Shire: described as a complex net of suspended fabric items filling a house....literally tons of fabric.....I am excited......sounds soft.
Arcata is sure fab!
aha! proof!
here's some images from our show in San Fran

the final leg
Sun, August 31, 2008 - 5:01 PMEureka's FabricShire was exactly as legend described:::
Picture a room installed with hundreds of dangling sewn shapes and objects lit by colorful glassy light pillars
there's a trapeze, a suspended drumset...a piano..several floating microphones adorned with glasses and little skulls and wool
a floor of fabric to nestle in, climbing, swinging, mirrored roof
with walls of texture to subsume whomever dare enter
our new friends Jorden and Marty created and use this space as their studio/jam space
truly fabulous!
~
driving driving driving
whales spouting!
saltwater toffee!
honeycombs!
dunes dunes dunes
mushrooms!
Did you know that the milky way has a snail and codfish at it's center?
with an extended foot booting out constellations overhead
(footprints are not bound to the ground)
Large hills of soft sand provide safe sound barriers to the distant flashing growlers
(dune buggies are obnoxious)
The sunset/rise reveals intricate shadow patterns in the sand, each grain plays a part
(tiptoeing still leaves lasting grooves)
Rooted grasses carve out circles and circles
(the wind is a shadow artist)
sway sway, switching lanes, keeping the wheel from wobbling.
~
did you know that we performed 6 shows and hosted 10 shadowjams in the last 5 weeks!?
yeehaw!
success!
the world is largely smaller in it's now bigness...
I am tiny huge.
Lastnight we had the smallest fire on the beach and burned an american dollar bill with some sage.
We made funny faces with our arms in the streetlight's glow.
home now.
phew
time to hunker this
