I arrived at Barrymore's at 5pm to do a sound check, as Twinn told me he'd be there around 4 to set up, and the gates were locked. When I went downstairs, the Aloha bar people told me that the event was not happening because FLA had been cancelled and the lineup had changed, and for whatever reason they did not want to host the event anymore.

It took several minutes of discussion for them to inform me that the event was in fact still happening but that it had moved to Babylon.

      BOO TO BARRYMORE'S!!!
Regardless of the reason for the show cancellation/moving venue, they should have been more forthcoming about the venue switch. Although given they may not have known about it earlier in the day.

So...I'm soooooo sorry to tell you that you missed a wicked night!!! But fear not, they will be doing it again...

Day two of the event was in fact at Zaphod's, and was also great! I enjoyed performing at both venues and both had different crowds, and interesting artistic endeavors :)

As for FLA, the word on them and the two bands they were touring with is that apparently their tour bus had a break down in NY or something. I'm really not sure of the details though, or when exactly the cancellation took place. A band from Chicago took their place and put on a great show, as did another I wasn't familar with but enjoyed both bands that I did see :)

Wow. That is seriously unprofessional on the part of Barrymores.

Certainly an odd thing to do - especially at the last minute like that.

I went hunting for info and found this on FLA's site (www.mindphaser.com/ ), posted on Saturday the 24th of June:

We are getting news that the rest of the US tour may have to be cancelled after problems with the tour bus rental company.

Please stay tuned for further information as soon as we get it,

Update2: The NYC show is definitely cancelled due to problems with the tour bus that were completely beyond the control of the band.

They are very upset about this and Bill is hoping to organise a new NYC date for some time in the next couple of months.

The band are now waiting to head back for Canada. No news about the Canada dates at present.

Update 3: Unfortunately, the rest of the North American tour is OFF due to not having a tour bus. This includes the CANADIAN dates too.

Update 4: hey guys, here is some news.
we are doing vancouver for sure and calgary and edmonton are looking like they could still happen. We are trying to get some alternative transportation. Adrian
