That's right, we're bringing Sharon allllll the way up to Fairbanks, Alaska for workshops. It's not until May 2010, but think of this as your time to plan. Always wanted to come to Alaska? Double your pleasure and come to the workshops as well!

I may just have to figure out a way, though... are there any specific dates yet? I'd love to try and make it up there and meet some of the bellydance community in Fairbanks, since, ya know... I'm gonna be livin' there and schtuff :D -

Fri, October 2, 2009 - 9:10 AMHi, Amy! Welcome (eventually) to Fairbanks! We've got a great dance community here. There's cabaret, tribal style and fusion...pretty much anything you could want. I'm not very active on Tribe these days because I can't get to it at work, but shoot me an e-mail with any questions.
Sharon will be up in Fairbanks May 28-30. There will be a performance and then 2 days of workshops. -

My boyfriend is in the Army and we're planning on getting married the summer of 2011 when he gets back from his next tour, and he's trying to get transferred up to Ft. Wainwright. I'm already in contact with Joyce (Space for Movement, maybe?) and I'm really excited that I was able to find some tribal ladies up there.
I'm sure that once you get more info about the workshops, you'll post here, right? Because if you don't, I'm going to attack you with emails to get the info... hahah :) -

Tue, October 6, 2009 - 4:21 PMYes, Joyce moved here about a year ago and just opened the Space for Movement studio. She is wonderful! I take classes with her, and she was in my troupe for a while, too.
There is also a good dance scene down in Anchorage, though they also lean very heavily toward cabaret. There are two Alaska bellydance tribes. You should join them so you can meet more dancers! -
