Due to circumstance BEYOND the promoters' control - this morning's scheduled workshop had to take place, er....shall we say in a combination of not one - but TWO alternate locations before it was through!
And the participants were amazingly good sports about it and understanding as well.
(Hey, could have been worse (I guess) at least we were in a park and there was electricity)
But a gigantic thanks to Sharon for "rolling with the punches" and being an incredible professional and truly top shelf Lady!
TCLA Hearts you, Sharon.
thank you milles foix!

Re: possibly THE most gracious Instructor ANYWHERE!
Wed, April 30, 2008 - 2:09 AMWell, I joined a workshop with her last year and it was a 5 hour kickass workshop. And me, being a bigger lady, I cant always keep up with the others...i get out of breath quickly etc....plus, im a smoker...okok, dont beat me!! But at Sharons Workshop, i learned that I have more sterngh in me than i ever suspected...a lot of the other dancers quit after the first 2,5 hours of drilling Yoga. And even when my head was spinning and I was sweating like an animal...i suddenly felt this huge amount of energy! Even after the workshop, i felt like dancing all night long and all this thanks to Sharon! She showed me my hidden inner power that was sleeping there and she came and woke it up!
She inspires me in everything i do concerning my dancing...The music, the costumes...even my tatoos...ok, i´ll share a secret..lately i am thinking about a Shraon tattoo..but psssttt, ok???

Re: possibly THE most gracious Instructor ANYWHERE!
Mon, April 28, 2008 - 10:58 PMSharon is an amazing instructor, both in instruction and also in personality.
I was in that class that initially had to be started in the back patio. We did our stretching and warm ups there first. It was a warm and sunny morning, and someone commented that it could have been raining. I have to say that the back patio offered a more relaxed and closer atmosphere than the larger room. It was nice to get closer and up front with Sharon. And she was so cool about everything and even offered her yoga mat to anyone who needed one because we were on cement.
Even when we moved inside she was charming and wonderful. I have to say even though it was a little bump in the road of things, Sharon made it fun for all of us. I actually liked it because it made the workshop "different" and "unexpected".
The woman is awesome! I loved her class and she her sense of humor is hilarious!! -

Tue, April 29, 2008 - 5:17 PMHeck yes! It was so cute... we were warming up with our sunglasses on. Sharon's choreography is totally fun and I love her taste in music! I really feel like I walk away a better dancer after each workshop.

Re: possibly THE most gracious Instructor ANYWHERE!
Wed, April 30, 2008 - 1:19 PMHer workshops at TCLA were absolutely wonderful. It's so obvious that she loves to dance and loves to teach and it was great getting to be one of the people to experience that.
And as far as the circumstances... that was so out of all of your hands. All of the people involved in TCLA were great in handling it. -

Re: possibly THE most gracious Instructor ANYWHERE!
Wed, April 30, 2008 - 8:29 PMI absolutely agree. Sharon's choreography workshop was the only one I was able to take, and I learned SO much out of just that one. It was so much fun and I love taking classes with Sharon because she loves what she does and it shows in her energy and exuberance. Congrats to all of the people involved with TCLA; you did a great job reorganizing and making sure that everyone got the best experience out of it all. :) -

Fri, May 2, 2008 - 9:11 AMso, Zymirrah
there's a piece of what happened. The venue was contracted to open the doors at 9 a.m. for the vendors (this was day 3 of the festival) the class was scheduled to begin at 10:00. No one on staff was answering their phones, it was a Sunday so there were no off-site offices to reach. We even got the police involved in trying to reach someone to open the facility. Finally, we tracked down a gardener from the park who made a call to someone with a key, and then at 10:46, we got inside.
Meanwhile, Sharon and all the students who had signed-up, had to get started on the 10 a.m. class outdoors on the patio. At least someone had an ipod or boom box and there was an outlet outside. Meanwhile, another class that Freyja was teaching had found a nice space in the shade on the grass.
But once we opened, we brought everyone inside to a small side-studio with air conditioning and mirrors.
Everyone was SO understanding about it - we really appreciate you ladies being cool and so glad you were all able to enjoy the amazing Sharon and the workshop!
thanks again!
