To celebrate his birthday and the birth of some great new song material,
our own Erik Yates will be heading up his first ever solo show at
Berkeley's Ashkenaz Community Center on Thursday, September 6th.

Erik will be showcasing both his acoustic and electric personalities, performing a
combination of his newer material with some HBR favorites. He'll be doing
an intimate unplugged set with the talented singer & mandolinist Sharon
Gilchrist (Rowan/Rice Quartet), showcasing songs the two of them have
worked on over the past year. Then, with the help of bandmates Bryan Horne
(bass) and Aaron Redner (fiddle), as well as musical conspirators Julian
Fritz (drums) and Asher Fulero (keyboards), he'll be showcasing a body of
"Americana Soul" material that combines his powerful vocals and lyrics with
two of his all-time favorite instruments: the Hammond organ and the
5-string banjo.
