My cat William was also a rescue, he would have been put down in two days if nobody had adopted him - just because one of his eyes was damaged (don't know the story unfortunately - his previous servants apparently had two young and less than careful children). He has more personality and is far more mischievous than I could have even hoped for - It's that burning need to see just what he can get away with that makes him so entertaining.
